What can be done for stubborn PR's?
    #2573459 - 04/18/04 11:38 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

My kitten was fruiting three casings:  2 GT and one PR.

The GT's performed beautifully with outstanding results.  The best she's ever hand and she is very pleased.  But the PR casing is STILL moping along quite miserably...in fact, she's only gotten two small, skinny shrooms from the entire casing so far.

What gives? The PR casing layer has big fluffy white spots all over it, but practically no shrooms.  Conditions were perfect for fruiting the GT's...they had tall, meaty steams with thick, fleshy caps and there were tons of them.

Why are her PR's being so stubborn?  What can she do to help her other PR casings along next time?

Maybe just bad genetics.
Hard to say really, but this is one reason my #1 clone
is GT
Clone what works well for you, and stick to it as your main.

just some ideas: maybe the mycelium from the PR got infected early with some contam but fought it off and now its lagging? maybe the PR prefers a different kind of casing?

Questions: whats your substrate? and hows the humidity? whats your air cycle like? (fannning, electric fan etc).

give me some more information!

PR had always been a delayed fruiter for me, once it did start to pin it was thousands of them, dozens pinning on top of pins...

Substrates not as deep as the GT's...maybe that has something to do with it. WBS cased with coir/verm, fanned every 4 hours with good humidity.

My kitten sure hopes that her other PR casings do better. It was depressing after seeing how well the other ones did. (and yes, GT does kick major ass!)
