Pinning on a Goliath tray that I was about to toss out.....
    #13655014 -

Well, I made this tray about a month ago. It stalled at about 95% colonisation. I decided jsut to toss it since I dont really have the temps for it right now.

I had it in my toss pile. I've been sick the last few days and haven't had the chance to toss it out yet.

Well today I pick it up and it has some pins on the top and around the sides.... What should I do with it? Its bound to be dry by now... Some sort of a rehydration is in order. I'm thinkin jsut let it float in its tray in water for at least 4 hours or so. Thoughts?

Also I guess I'll have to case it. Its pinning with no casing though, I wonder if fruiting with out a casing is possible?

I've been leaving the lid off my sg lately since I have king oysters in there, so I think I should be able to put them in there no problem.

I tried to get pics but the tray is wrapped in clingfilm still so they wouldn't come out.

not sure about dunking panaeolus; maybe a heavy misting will do.

the reason for stalling maybe the presence of bacteria or maybe a dry surface of the tray, but is not always a reason to write it off.

i would have just cased it at 95%. who cares?!

fruiting without a casing is possible, but will result in just a few small fruits. maybe you case one half of the tray and look what happens.

:goodluck:

ps: pics of the progress of the tray would be nice

let it float , thats a good idea,
dont let the top get wet

pans hate water , and will abort very easily when there pins
and yes a normal 50/50 casing works

if you try and it works its a win

but if you dont try at all , you lose at the start
