Infulence your trips with TV!

Hey all,

Me and a friend have been trying this since i noticed if i sleep with a certain thing on TV i dream bout' it(yes it works for porn :laugh: ). We dose high, usually 4-5 grams and just lay down, eyes closed. We leave the TV going with a pre-chosen program on it. We both tend to hallucinate and ponder whatever is on TV, just by hearing it.

5 grams usually maked me pass out(or sleep, black out what is it?) and i usually have intense visuals/thoughts/feelings about whatevers on TV.

Try this next time you high dose and tell me how it work out!

Yeah TV can be a crazy thing while tripping. I don't usually watch TV (maybe 1/2 hour a month). Last time I took mescaline, I watched BBC world, then some of the soccer world cup.
Fucking insane. Thats all there is to say. Global-tech-political-concern-entertainment at it's finest.

Whenever I trip and near a TV set I turn to the info-mercials and make fun of all the fake ass actors and shitty products. that's usually real late in the evening...

TV can be good or bad...

Watching a movie can completely captivate you... you'll experience it like never before, and really be in touch with the emotions of the actors and the situations.

This can be good, and it can be bad.

I took shrooms and then went and saw Fantasia 2000 when it was in IMAX theaters, and it was f-ing amazing.  F-ing delightful.  There's no other way to watch that movie... it was made for shrooms or LSD.

On the other hand... you could probably watch something really disturbing, and get really messed up by it... so I wouldn't recommend watching anything too nasty.

Rule of thumb... I wouldn't recommend watching anything that was rated R, unless it was only rated R due to coarse language and sexual content.

Having nice music and an easy-going movie available, handy and ready to go is not a bad idea.

When tripping (and that's what this particular board -- Trip Tips -- is all about) you need to have a variety of things to play with... and don't do the same thing every time.

So while watching TV/movies all the time would get tired... it's not bad to do once in a while, or as part of your trip.

For a change, why not get a hunk of clay to play with?  Clay is very cool... very maluable, yet good at holding its shape without deforming.

Plastercine may be less messy, doesn't dry out, and comes in many colors... but it tends to be hard to make anything with it as it warms up from your hands... and it's hard to work with when it's cold -- a little bit of a paradox there :wink:

To make something out of plastercine that holds its shape you have to use some metal wire (like a paper-clip).  Without wire all you end up making is snakes :wink:

It would be really cool to trip at the beach and build sand-sculptures... kinda late for that now unless you live in California / Florida, etc.

once on a 1.1gram dose powdered into a bowl of chili, i watched fight club for the come up.  indeed it held my attention and looked as it never had before.  the way they can manipulate the score and sound effects is quite pleasing to my senses :cool:

my only other experience with tv/movie was when i tripped in public, we had bought tickets earlier in the day to see "Where the Heart Is," because we didn't know what we'd do with so much time trippin' in town while not being able to drive anywhere.  but half way through the movie, my friend J is walkin' around and laying down in the isles, i was just crackin' up laughing, and my girl was laughing and kept sayin' J's goin' nuts :grin:  my friend john on the other hand was totally immersed in the movie.

so the three of us (J, doreen, and I) left the movie to explore, and met up with john later that afternoon at the corner of an intersection completely randomly, walking towards each other from different sides of the block, meeting at te corner.  it was cool.  anyway, i'm gettin' way off topic here.

generally, i don't like to watch TV while tripping, if not because it's hard to find something worth watching, because of the fucking commercials.

Television is one of the last things I enjoy being around during a trip. The horrible acting and pointless plots really shine through.  However cartoons can be enjoyable on the comedown especially Alice in Wonderland.  I believe Alice in Wonderland is an exception to the rule.  My favorite environment to trip in would definitely be out in NATURE! :wink:

The simpsons, and anything on latenight cartoon network (Space Ghost, The Oblongs, Futurama, The Brak Show, SeaLab 2021) are the funnest shows ever to watch while coming down. Some TV is less enjoyable, after my last out of body experience i turned on the tv and American Psycho was on and i didnt know what it was, and that freaked me out and made the come down really bad.

Sometimes I really enjoy watching TV while tripping. Can be extremely captivating like previously mentioned. On the other hand, when I do watch TV while high, I really have this nagging feeling that I'm wasting the trip. A dark room with enjoyable music puts tv to shame.

The last time I watched TV while tripping, the old Spiderman show was on. After watching 2 or 3 episodes of this, I came to the conclusion that the show was used to Brain-wash people.

tv is so amazing when your on shrooms. I make sure to keep my tv locked to BET. The music videos are amazing. after watching rap music videos for my trip i came to the conclusion that black people put the most amazing colors ive ever seen in their videos. wow.. wow

yea i noticed that too.. the colors in music videos are really pleaseing to the brain.. some music videos to watch on shrooms are.. D12 - purple pills (the video is supposed to be what it looks like on shrooms, really cazy) and alot of busta rhymes videos are nice too.

Once while on some good shrooms, i turned on Nickeloden GAS (Games and Sports).  Basically, a channel that shows reruns of Nickeloden gameshows.  Double dare was on.. and.. my oh my.. it was fucking hilarious.  Imagine.. mark summers.. speaking in the corny gameshow host voice.. very fast.. only you are tripping.. so it seems like jibberish.. and these families are competeing at these fucked up games that involve slime.. and it makes no sense.. you'll laugh your ass off :smile:

If there's a TV on when I'm tripping, I'm usually too busy in my own world to even notice or care about the tv. I think I left on some infomercial channel for hours once while shrooming, and after i realised the tv was actually on i went and turned it off.

i watched the Matrix on shrooms and it was crazy as fuck, seemed so advanced and looked cool, but after a while TV just gets boring on shrooms....id rather run around feeling lightness and just laugh at myself

also when watching TV it seems hella fake and preplanned, which isnt fun
i watched "home improvement" on shrooms and like the fact that all the jokes were preplanned and all that gay ass acting kinda pissed me off

I think about TV way to fucked up when im on mush. I always feel that it is kindof ontroilling everything, and it makes mne feel very uncomfartable. I have no idea why that is though. It's pretty wierd, I can't really explain it great though.

i have this orwellian theory that b/c of the low refresh rate of the TV, it is a tool that brainwashes the masses of society. thats just my personal theory and it hasn't stopped me from watching TV while tripping. its possible you're just thinking along the same line of reasoning
