"listen to their song lebanese blonde"
I think I've heard that song! it goes something like...
Hola Hola all the lebs up in this place! hola hola if your nose it too big for your face!

This signature message for YOU is formulated to GRAB your ATTENTION and.. allow your mind to sink deeper and deeper within itself.. right now.. as your eyes ROOOOOLL over this text you may even notice.. your breathing starts slow down.. and you.. allow yourself to.. become calm and relaxed.. and you'll.. feel drenched in a warm and fuzzy energy.. and every time you read this message, you might.. feel that same warm and buzzing energy getting stronger and thicker..

I have a CD called "Best of Trance, Vol. 2". It's really cool. I also like anything Orb, or The Orbital, or a CD I burned called "Trance: A State of Altered Consciousness". I also like the songs "Toca's Miracle" by Fragma, "Castles in the Sky" by Ian Van Dahl (f. Marsha), "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay, and "Can't Keep Me Silent" by Angelic. (Those are all on Best of Trance, Vol. 2).

DJ QBert's album "Wavetwisters" is really good...loads of incredible scratching and sampling. I tend to like albums that tell a story when I'm tripping, there seems to be more of a dramatic arc that way...which is good for my mood developlment. Tom Waits "The Black Rider" has got to be my favorite trip CD of all though. Eerie and atmospheric. Kid 606 - down with the scene is great too.

hm, most of the times I don't really like music while tripping. It confuses me and I don't like the artificial aspect of it. Once it actually triggered a bad trip because I had the bass too loud with some trancecore. Every time I was in fear for that bass that bounced off the walls and clashed over me. Like a huge wave overwhelming me... When I did shutoff all the mechanical devices in my room it became one of my best trips actually. Kinda stormy day and I just sat comfortable in my chair looking outside to the visuals in the clouds drifting by.
On other occassions I found music to be soothing however. Once by accident I had Astral Projection - Butterfly on and it sounded like the best song ever. Now when I listen at it again I really can't figure out why I found it to be so perfect. On another occassion I had some nausea and didn't feel too well, but when listening to some new songs I found one track: 'Bamboo - A new dawn' that helped me forget all about it. Kinda strange that this particular track appealed to me so much because most of the times I don't like vocals in songs and it's a drum&bass track with hard amen and low bass. Exactly the sort of thing that started a bad trip before with some trancecore...
I also tried some music a few times that seems to be made for tripping: goa. From artists like Hallucinogen or Infected Mushroom. But again: too confusing. I'd rather enjoy silence. Which is rather strange since in normal live i'm very focussed on music.
Thus I really can't really recommend anything actually. I do think that it shouldn't be too fastpaced and techno like music. Vocals seem to be nice as well. But I haven't quite figured it out myself

the beatles - tomorrow never knows
i haven't listened to it while tripping yet...but it's a pretty crazy song...lots of weird sounds...and psychedelic lyrics
turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream
it is not dying, it is not dying
lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
it is shining, it is shining
and u may see the meaning of within

I don't care if you're not much of a Stevie Wonder fan, but you gotta hear some Stevie while tripping- and I'm not talking about "part time lover" and shit like that- go get some of his 70's shit like:
Innervisions
Talking Book
Songs in the Key of life
Stevie Wonder's music will uplift you and fill your entire being with a warm and beautiful energy while your doors of perception are opened.
Now, if you want something FUNKY, you gotta pick up some George Clinton. I'd recommend:
Parliament- The Mothership Connection (you'll understand the title when you hear this shit)
A lot of George Clinton's music was created while the entire band was on LSD, so it's meant for tripping.
I could name a whole bunch of shit, but you gotta start there. The music is all played on real instruments, and completely not computer generated. For me personally, this gives it a very organic feeling, and mushrooms and organic music go VERY well together. For those of you who like to just sit with your eyes closed and let the music create a visual party in your head- this shit is great. For those of you who like to dance while on shrooms- this shit is great. Give it a try WHILE ON SHROOMS- you won't be dissapointed.
FREE YOUR MIND, AND YOUR ASS WILL FOLLOW!

That's something I totally agree with... too bad my taste of music is totally different from that old 70's music and I can't stand it for longer then 5 minutes, so I'll have to do with the music I like. But i've also noted that mushrooms don't go very well with elektronic music (see my post above).

Try a soundscape cd from Robert Fripp.
Coil has made a disc for time travel on psychoactive substances, it's quit minimal, the disc is called Timemachines. I haven't tried this one myself yet.

I have two artists to tell you about.
1. Incubus: I'm not sure if you have ever listned to these guys other than whats on the radio. I cannot say enough about them. If you listen to the entire morning view album while tripping you will know what these guys are all about.........TOTALLY AMAZING!
2. INFECTED MUSHROOM: Holy shit!!!!!!!!! These guys are incredible! musical geniuses in every sense of the word. This can make you feel like you are tripping even when you are sober. I will warn you, this is a little intimidating at first just because it is so different, but if you give it a chance it will blow your mind. dont think about it or try to follow it, just let yourself go.
some of the best songs: GROOVE, ACID KILLER, SYMPHONATIC, INTO THE MATRIX, DREAM THEATRE, DISCO MUSHROOM
I really hope you get a chance to check these guys out!

Heres some bands to check out...
Morcheeba (Trigger Hippie is a perfect song)
Esthero
Massive Attack
Portishead
Sneaker Pimps
Those will hold you over. Nothings better when your tripping then TRIP Hop
Peace out,

B.P.Empire is awesome! I got it as soon as it came out. I love every song on the cd. my favorites are Never Ever Land, Tasty Mushroom, and Dancing With Kadafi. I love Hallusinogen also. I also listen to M.F.G., Analog pussy, and electric universe. Also if you are interested, I have found a new group that has awesome stuff that you can download free. They are called Syn-Sun, and you can find their stuff at e-frenchsound.com. Just go into the trance section. peace

I haven't heard the whole OhGr cd but I saw them live.
cEvin isn't 'in' the band but he was drumming on the tour.
It was a great show, we got to meet and talk to Ogre for quite a bit.
When cEvin was coming out of the venue I didnt recognize him, me being an idiot.
So I let him walk right by me. My friend got to meet him though.
I can't wait to meet up with those guys again, I want to smoke a phatty with cEvin.
He is THE head.
Download's cd, Effector, is highly reccomended.

No one likes Mr. Bungle? Disco Volante is the ultimate trip CD in my collection. Best song from it is ma meshka mow skwoz (spelling?!). It this demented sort of cartoon/horror movie score song... hard to describe, but great for tripping. For all the industrial ppl, the swining/red, raw, and sore by Pig is surprisingly good for tripping.

Most to the point as far as I know:
"Digging In The Dirt" P.Gabriel, especially accompanied by it's videoclip.
Best approximation of Trip FX:
"Favelas" The Aloof
Cool beyond belief:
"Mangez Moi" (?) ="eat of me", this totally cool video I saw on MTV in a Trip.
In-Trip Music:
"Yalunga" Dead Can Dance.
But this's all before some of you were born !!!

Yeah, Robert Fripp's soundscape recordings would be an interesting experience while under the influence. I'd recommend as well anything by Terry Riley, the minimalist electronic composer who's been recording for almost 40 years now, and whose stuff is very trippy to beging with. His work is in a different type of tuning paradigm than is most stuff, so it would sound pretty out there while dosed, I'm sure. Someone mentioned The Residents, and that would be pretty entertaining too, maybe even get you laughing pretty good!!!

note to all hardcore/gabber listeners- check out Bogdan Raczynski, another Rephlex artist who specializes in fucked up furious beats. Very abraisive drill core, layered dnb, and phat basslines with melodic harpsichord. unique. one of my favs (although might be a little much while tripping!)

I plan to try out Disco Volante on my next trip Fantomas - Directors Cut is pretty good for tripping. Devin Townsend is amazing soundscape metal, quite intense on a trip. Tool just plain rules Earthtone 9 are a great "metalcore" (for lack of a better word) English band; the lyrics are quite philosophical. I'm planning to try out System of a Down next trip as well. And not for the faint hearted - Marilyn Manson - Smells Like Children. This album gives me the shits when I'm just stoned and lying on my bed in the dark. Of course, Pink Floyd goes well with tripping, and pretty much everything else from the 60s/70s - Deep Purple, The Doors, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc. I wonder what A Perfect Circle would be like on a trip - it's quite mellow, so I guess it could be promising. Stone Temple Pilots - Purple is an amazing trip rock album, so is White Pony by Deftones. For some reason, I listened to Cradle of Filth on my first acid trip, and I LOVED IT. So for you death metal trippers, Dusk and Her Embrace by Cradle of Filth is a great album to trip to - it has a lot of those gothic piano overture bits that I crave so much. Opeth - Orchid has a similar vibe to it, but is quite sombre. Chemical Brothers - Surrender is an amazing trip album, even though I've only listened to half of it, it's worthy of a place on your trip list. Other good electronic groups include Velvet Acid Christ(slightly dark dancy techno with plenty of cool samples from movies), Frontline Assembly (dark industrial/techno), Prodigy, Orbital, Shpongle! Green Jelly (I'm sure everyone remembers them) would be good for a light hearted trip. And for Mr Bungle fans, Dog Fashion Disco would be a hell of a twisted and demented ride - another band in this genre is Tub Ring and their album Drake Equation would be a mad trip album. Gorillaz is a pretty mellow album and goes well on a trip. Cornelius remind me of Gorillaz slightly, and is pretty mellow and upbeat. Boy Hits Car, another weird band, but worth a listen. Queens of the Stone Age! Definitely try them out - a song off their new album reminds me very much of Deep Purple. Coil, although dark and creepy, has a few albums that would push your trip into another dimension - albums like Musick to Play in the Dark, Astral Disaster, The Angelic Conversation and Time Machines. And You Will Know Them By the Trail of the Dead is a great band for tripping (Trail of Dead for short). And who could forget Primus and the Melvins? Mike Patton's recent album in a band called Tomahawk is great for tripping. Jeez, this is getting long, so I'm gonna wrap this up. And finally, White Zombie!

Mazzy Star is a damn good band to listen to while in altered states. their 3 albums are: So Tonight That I Might See She Hangs Brightly Among My Swan
the lead singer's (Hope Sandoval's) voice is angelic. you'll never hear anything like it...
