I think 2012 is what a lot of the "believers" think is the end of this Universe and the start of the next one. The Eternal reset as it were. I think it's retarded, but there ya go. It's a Mckenna thing.

I honestly believe that in ancient times human kind was helped by aliens which we confused at the time for Gods. I dont believe the world will end but i believe a new beginning will happen, where the aliens come back to help us, help us learn.

Just my thoughts in a nutshell lol

I dunno I really don't think anything will change, I think it will kind of be like when 2000 hit and there was the whole y2k scare and people thought the world was going to end and stuff but in the end not much happened and life went on as usual, I mean don't get me wrong I would love if 12-21-12 hit and everyone started treating each other with respect and whatnot but i just don't see it happening. Us humans like to hype things up and often times the actual event falls short of the hype.

I don't really think the world will end by 2012, but it surely will give us two reasons to celebrate like hell. First: "The world is going to end! Let's celebrate like it's the end of the world!", and then: "Fuck yeah! We made it, let's celebrate!"

y2k was based on science, or something like that, they thought all the computers in the world were going to explode due to a problem with the calendar systems, but I think somebody fixed it or it just fixed itself.

2012 is more of a... not science.. type thing.

did you guy's hear the latest on 2012? news was released yesterday stating that they miscalculated and that 2012 being the end of the mayan calendar could be off by as many as 50 to 100 years. this means their calendar may have already ended and nothing happened or that it's still a few years off into the future. maaybe they're just trying to stop people from going crazy the next 2 years. who knows.

your right y2k was more of a science based thing, but around that time there were plenty of other stories circulating about how 2000 was going to be the end of the world, I meant it more in that context(y2k was kind of a bad example)the point being that usually stuff like this is all hype. Now I'm not saying that something couldn't happen just that I don't expect it to, honestly I'm down for either a new beginning or the end of the world, I'm just not holding my breath waiting on it is all:sunny:

Let's not forget the "Age of Aquarius" from the 70s. That didn't really pan out. That was all hyped up like the 2012  stuff.

exactly, i just don't think we are ever going to get lucky enough to live in some kind of super peaceful Utopian society peoples idea's just clash too much for that. But if by chance we wind up ushering in a new era I personally hope its the era of sasha grey in mah bed lol that would be more epic than any 2012 prophecy I have ever heard.:awecid:
