Sugar is an addiction. Go 2-3 without, and you'll find you dont need or want it.
Look into fruits, Gala apples, red seedless grapes, bananas, and melon are a good start. Nectarines and peaches and even frozen or fresh berries are good munchies.
Go for walks, some people need to boost their metabolism.
Hey OP, google pilates. There are some super easy programs. It takes all of 10 minutes to do at the house, great for women, it's all about toning, not getting muscular.
Work out some kind of reward system. If BOTH of you do good, treat each other.
Maybe make one night the fast food/less healthy nite. Everything in moderation.
Learn how to cook yourself. Hell, she's doing all the cooking, maybe she doesnt know how to make healthy stuff.....
Salads are very versatile. Oscar Meyer precooked Chicken Sliced Breast can be eaten damn near every day!

Do you take poisons in moderation? How about rape? Some things aren't needed to any degree and so if you have the discipline to eat healthy 6 days out of the week, you have the discipline to eat healthy 7 days out of the week. There are delicious foods you can make without the need to overload them with refined sugars or artificial flavouring.
