Re: I can't commit murder but i can go to war? WHAT?? [Re: MushMushi]

9/11 would've been a military error if they had been aiming for a military base, but they weren't. They diliberately killed innocent people. Now, I don't like when America kills the innocent either, but that doesn't justify what the terrorists did.

There is a nice expression, in french of course.
On r?colte ce qu`on a sem?.
It means, more or less, that they(usa) got what they deserved.

So, innocent people who may never have voted because they are disgusted with the system, or may have consistenetly voted against those who have made U.S. foreign policy, or non-Americans who were in the buildings that were struck or were passengers on the airliners deseverved this?

Quote:
I knew there was justice after all.
You see, I try to apply the same logic that some (if not many) Americans express towards Iraqis, Arabs, Koreans, Africans, etc.
They don't care if they die by millions.
So why should I care for Americans?
After all, isn't that what this society is teaching us?

This is not justice, this is murder. It is not justice that two opposing groups kill innocent people.

Quote:
The media tells me that when innocent people are killed by american bombs, these are simply military errors.
Then, I should also say that 9/11 was simply a military error.

Only a moron would say that 9/11 was simply a military error. It was mass murder, plain and simple.

Would you be expressing the same asinine sentiments if someone that you cared about happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when murderers decided to take innocent lives? It is apparent form your statements that you are lying when you also stated , "I felt sorry for the people that died there." This is a shallow attempt to give an appearence of compassion.

Anyone who revels in the murder of the innocent is an asshole.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

"Forgot this part: if the guy weren't a citizen. I believe in a fair trial as upheld by our Constitution, which includes only citizens of the United States. And that right I would defend to the death. "

Okay, so you feel strongly enough about the right to a fair trial that you'd fight to the death, but only for citizens?

How come other people don't deserve this right?

I was simply imitating the american mass-media.
Double standards, if you know what I mean.
But instead of applying it to other countries, I applied it to USA.

Humm... Another ad hominem attack.

It seems that some people on this board do not share my humor... I guess that's too bad for them.

Some might see it, as Virgia Woolf put it in "The Death of the Moth":
"[...] this gigantic effort on the part of an insignificant little moth, against a power of such magnitude, to retain what no one else valued or desired to keep, moved one strangely."

I really don't feel to strongly on this issue, but the way I see it, if you're not an American citizen, you're not protected under our Constitution. If the CIA or FBI or other intelligence commission feels someone is a threat to this country, I have no problem with that person being eliminated. Of course, in the idealistic Hollywood world, this works much better, and I can definately see where some serious issue might come up.

I'm just sick of people complaining that migrant workers in the US have the same rights as citizens because they have green cards.

That's how it should be.

Too true.

Also, citizenship should only be granted to newborns if at least one parent is a citizen.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers
