I can't commit murder but i can go to war? WHAT??

Why is it that governments can convict me of murder if i kill someone but then they have an army that they can go and kill people with somewhere else on the planet?

I guess it's because the government insists that we citizens search for other means to solve out problems. We're supposed to work things out between eachother non-violently. If that's what we citizens have to do then how come a government doesn't have to? Any pro-war people care to explain what seems like severe hipocracy?

If I knew someone making sarin gas in his basement who applauded the 9/11 attacks, I'd shoot him. And I doubt I'd go to jail either.

The hypocritical part is that I probably would get busted if I stole his wallet afterward.

3 years ago, I'd say you're an idiot for thinking that, but since the current administration has stripped away civil liberties and due process, you may actually be right about that.

Yeah that's because what you're describing is war. My question is why is it that you don't have to resolve things peacefully with this character but you do have to resolve things with the guy who cuts you off in traffic. They are both threats to your life.

Forgot this part: if the guy weren't a citizen. I believe in a fair trial as upheld by our Constitution, which includes only citizens of the United States. And that right I would defend to the death.

But you, as a citizen of the United States, would be on trial for first degree murder. Vigilantism is still no excuse for murder.

it's because we as indiviuals are expected to be reasonable and find non-violent solutions to our problems. soveriegn nations are not held to the same ideal.

Your example would work fine if there was no time to call the police, and they were about to kill some people if you didn't stop them by whatever means necissary.

That was just some bad karma...
After all, I wasn't really surprised by the "attack".
Why should only other people get punished by life?

There is a nice expression, in french of course.

And I was exagerating the orgasm part.
I didn't have one, but I felt quite well that day.
I knew there was justice after all.
You see, I try to apply the same logic that some (if not many) Americans express towards Iraqis, Arabs, Koreans, Africans, etc.
They don't care if they die by millions.
So why should I care for Americans?
After all, isn't that what this society is teaching us?
Egoism ?
Or that simply goes in one direction?

The media tells me that when innocent people are killed by american bombs, these are simply military errors.
Then, I should also say that 9/11 was simply a military error.
