I think it's strange that a bunch of enlightened people here are supporting outlooks that rely so heavily on demonising populations.  Not just disappointing but odd to see Jews and Arabs so consistently mischaracterised.  Most people are open to having their issues resolved.  There are hardliners and the barrier they present to a deal - any kind of a deal - is that they will not see enough humanity in the opposing campaign to believe it is possible.  There are also a few who are plain dogmatic.  An argument here about the rights and wrongs is pretty futile but I would expect people to start not in 2009 or 1967 or 1948 or in biblical times but to look closely at exactly what is the history of that area post-1850, and see that zionists were generally neither military nor dogmatic colonisers, and that misunderstandings and resentments arose at that time generally due to the nature of customary bedouin settling rights, the negligence of the sellers and Ottoman intransigence.  The flames of war have been easily fanned by zealots of all stripes around the world ever since.  It would be nice not to be one.

As for Israel crossing a line in this instance I believe the embargo is flawed but that the flotilla was not about helping Gazans, and Israel did not cross a line engaging its hardcore.

Yes but the christian community in israel isn't that well off either, i mean the original christian, not the douchebag white tourists ( well i don't want to be racist either). of course things are not as bad as the muslims, the main complaints are that some jewish person sometime harass them( but that should happen to any minority so no big surprise there) they cannot proselytize, they cannot marry interfaith and that it is sometime hard to get permits for christian church. i am trying to find a source about this, but according to occupation 101( which is yes a pro-palestinian documentary) the plight of the palestinians and the original christians is heavily linked.

the irony is that so many christians from the united states are behind israel at all cost since israel is a biblical reference thus a country that should always have existed.

*edit: the christians cannot pay money to proselytize other people, such as buying a cup of coffee to another person while discussing faith. but they can still proselytize and the law is rarely applied. those who argue about the cup of coffee are hysterical, but it is true that it could happen, but it probably won't.
