Cambodian Monotub in the works

Back in the hobby after a long absence, and it feels great!!

I'm going to spawn 6 jars of rye to hpoo in the next few days.  The strain is Cambodian.  I've just learned that smaller fruits are more potent.  Will a shallow depth of 2" grow smaller fruits?  What other factors could help me increase potency?  As for the substrate, it's my first time with hpoo.  Should I mix a bit of coir and vermiculite with it?  What ratios?  And it seems that casing or no casing layer in a monotub is a bit of a personal choice.  Which would be better for my goal of lots of small potent fruits?  Anyone have experience with Cambodian?

Smaller fruits are more potent because they generally have around the same amount of actives as a larger fruit, just less water weight. They aren't more potent simply because they are small.

I wouldn't go under 3 inches for substrate. If you want lots of really small fruits the only way I know how to do that for sure is to work with an isolate or at least a clone. If you want more potent/smaller shrooms just pick them before they grow too big.

I've read very often that fruit size has a lot to do with growth factors.  Of course, genetics may also play a factor.  And for sure, I see your point about water weight, but I've also seen RR say a few times, that gram for gram smaller=more potent as in 10 grams of small shrooms pack more of a punch than 10 grams of big ones.

Using a thinner substrate will NOT give you more potent shrooms.

If you want super potent shrooms, grow a more potent species.

There are a variety of claims of additives that affect potency. They are all unproven. If I had to pick one that I think might be true, it would be nitrogen supplementation.
