Cambodian Colonisation

Just wanted some comments on my current situation: I have six jars of Cambodian PC, one of which is finally at 100% colonisation after three weeks, and five of which are only at 40% (at maximum). I used two inoculation sites per jar, with 0.5cc at each site, and these both took on the jat that's now at 100% but in the five remaining jars only one site germinated. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to proceed? It strikes me that the jars are having a real hard time colonising from the one germination point, and I don't want them to get too 'tired', or indeed have to wait another month or so for them to maybe colonise the whole jar. I'm using organic rye flour and vermiculite substrate, in ~250ml jars, and the substrate itself is being kept at a constant mid eighties. No contam. has set in as of yet.

Just keep them in a hot (85 degrees), and humid environment. They should eventually colonize. And, next time, inoculate at four points. I wonder about the quality of the spore syringes you used.

Okay, so the general consensus is patience. They are in the environ you described, being 85F and sitting in a H2O/H2O2 bath in a covered chamber, with air holes. Knowing that I'm just going to leave them to do their thing, I'd like to know average lifespans of these type of cakes. Is there a period after which the mycelium could die in the jar? If I were to extrapolate their current progress I would predict 100% colonisation 2 to 2.5 months after inoculation. This seems like an awful long time.

Average life span depends on the environment you give the cakes to grow. Generally, once the jars are colonized (anywhere from 8 days to three weeks,) they are birthed and then begin fruiting within a week. If you provide a deep casing and keep the environment sterile, you can get up to four and even five flushes. Figure for 4+ weeks of fruiting time if you are patient. I've had a Cambodian casing go as far as six flushes, though the last flush had just a couple of mushrooms. But keep in mind that's abnormal.
