Curious, how do you or anyone for that matter go about hunting around golf courses?  That is the straight of the arrow people's congress imo.  It's filled with ridiculous looking serious business people and even if you were playing 9 holes I can't see walking over to an area and telling the next group of guys to hold up and not play through as you forage about.    The whole idea of hunting around a golf course just makes me think I would stick out like a sore thumb regardless of time of day or dress.

Lol. From Central America to Virginia, my ass. P. caerulescens, a Psilocybe in the same taxon/section as weilii (Cordisporae), is primarily in Mexico and Central America. They are accustomed to tropical and subtropical climates. Try it and get back to me; I may be wrong.

You're right they don't.  Their stems are totally not the same at all.

Well at least it was fun exploring would be zones.  I found some interesting looking mushrooms but are all probably similarly boring in makeup. 



Chanterelle?

This guy just has interesting pores underneath the cap instead of gills. 



At first glance I thought I found an amanita muscaria then I brushed it off and it had no warts and the stem was bulbous at the bottom and it was pretty well eaten by bugs whatever it was.



I'm hoping for lots of thunderstorms tonight.  I keep hearing fading thunder in the distance but no rain seems to come.  I'll keep checking different places.  I hope it's not really true about them being readily abundant in the northern counties in woodlands and less in the southern ones around ATL.  It seems riskier to have to pick lawns, golf courses, sides of streets etc.  I am determined to find them.  I know I'm a nub at this but patience will pay off.
