Alarms went off at store and I drove off
    #12537265 -

I went into an electronics store and when I was walking out the tower alarms by the door went off.  I kept walking, got in my car, and drove off.  I saw an employee of the store writting down my plate number.

Should I worry about the police showing up at my door?

Did you steal something? If so then yes.

Too late now. Can't prove that you didn't steal something if the cops do show up.

A receipt or the cameras in the store could have. They might have written down your license just in case and then checked the cameras.

I used to work in retail and this is how it works.

They check the security cameras, if they see you stealing something, then they call the cops and give them your license plate number. If they don't see you stealing anything on the cameras, you usually just get put on a suspicious persons list and will be watched very carefully everytime you go in the store from that point on.

Don't forget to wipe your ass with the receipt before handing over your proof of purchase.  :glittershitz:

If anyone is ever poor, you can just walk into a wal-mart, pick something off the shelf and take it to return for a refund.

I did that with a blender and got 40 bucks.

The employee could not see me in my car(I have tinted windows).  What happens then?

DID YOU STEAL SOMETHING??

If so, they will check the cameras and see that you stole something and give the police your license plate #.  Do you understand?

What's the value of the merchandise?

All they need is your license plate number and camera footage of you in the store stealing. Nothing else mattters.

If it was petty theft they might not do anything.

Yes, I read your two other posts.  You NEVER mention whether the alarm went off because YOU stole something or not, or whether someone else was the culprit.  And you still have not answered that question.
You are inferring that someone else stole something and they assumed that the thief was in the car that you were driving away from the lot, right?
If that is the case, I would not worry too much because you didn't steal anything, though the cops might show up.  If you are so worried, you probably shouldn't have driven away when you noticed the employee taking down your license number, and instead explained that you are not the one who set the alarm off.

Don't they have some type of deal where you can return three things a year without a receipt? I could have swore I heard this before.

You get 3 returns with no receipt a year as long as it's under $50 and they track it by your driver's license.

after that you have to buy something, take your receipt back the next day and grab an identical item off the shelf and return it.

although i think they've managed to work around both scenarios by putting individual item codes on all merchandise.

Generally stores in my area don't document < $50 returns with your driver's license.

Be sure not to go over 3.

Also, this is theft by deception, which is a felony and form of fraud, regardless of the amount. Check your state laws. It's not worth an eighth of commercial buds to get fucked like that.

The best crime happens when they take down your drivers license number. :awebig:
