What kind of light?
My lights are in the center of the room, my SGFC grow is near the wall. Ambient light off the walls and from the window seem to give it more than all it needs. They still tend grow on a angle towards my artificial light but still grow none the less.

I've never experimented with light much as it doesn't seem that it has been much of a factor to my success so I may not be the best person to answer that.

Well the area I'm growing it in is very small (my room closet), I'll snap a pic real quick with the fixture in it so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

It's just a basic 4' shop light fixture i picked up from Walmart with a couple 6500k fluorescent bulbs.Like I said before, I can get it in there horizontally if I wedge it in the closet, but I'm not sure how safe it is. Otherwise, just leaning it against the wall next to my SG terrarium or hanging diagonally are my only options. If only my closet was 2 inches wider :frown:

I would actually go smaller if I were you. Unlike growing herb, fungi need very little light to grow. That light is way more than needed though it wont hurt.

If you plan on using that light I would suspend it to the top of the cabinet horizontally the best you can, even if has to be on a angle just make sure it wont fall and it will be fine. I would put it on a timer or make sure you don't ever leave it on too long as those lights can possibly heat up, depending on the housing.

Also remember to kind to the environment and always recycle those bulbs and never throw them away.
Though they will last quite a long time.

Thanks for the advice, I will probably go with the wedge method. The 4' light fixture was all they had so I didn't really have much of a choice unless I just went with a regular socket.

I plan on keeping those doors closed, but with the closet being pretty small I'm worried about FAE. As long as I'm fanning it 5-6 times a day, will I be okay? or do I need to keep the door open at all times(might be a problem)?

Also, while I'm on the topic of misting/fanning, is misting more optimal during the 12h of daylight or should I be misting during both cycles, or does it not matter? If I'm misting 5-6 times a day, should I spread it out evenly (say once every 4-5 hours), or mist an extra amount during a specific time?

Without a air pump of sorts in there to keep fresh air moving I would leave the doors open during fruiting and fan 6+ times a day. I just take my SGFC and set it on a table with 2 milk crates underneath to allow air to come through the bottom holes. If you don't want to mess with pumps or misters/humidifiers the best thing you can do a SGFC other than mist and fan is keep it out in the open where air is circulating around it.

I am through the steam sterilization stage. Boiled for 90 mins, 7 jars have been cooling on the stove for about 2 hours. I'd like to get some more jars sterilized tonight, do I have to let the jars cool inside the kettle? how long do I have to wait before I can take the jars out and put new ones in?

Its recommended you leave them in to cool, especially when pressure cooking, not absolutely necessary though. You should have foil over the tops protecting them anyway. Give them 5- or so mins just so they are not extremely hot then take then out.

And how long should I wait before inoculating the jars after steam sterilizing? What's the minimum that is safe? 8 hours or so?

8 Hours could be pushing it, depending on how they are kept during cooling time. I've had jars become plenty cool 2 hours later and I've hadthem stay warm to the touch almost 24 hours later when kept in a plastic container that insulated them. I personally for safe measures to ensure they are definitely cooled would say wait till they are cool to the touch, then wait 2 or 3 hours.

I have all of my jars inoculated and colonizing now except ONE. I ran out of spores in my syringe for my last one, so it's been sitting in a sterilized place for the past 2 days. Gonna try to make a new syringe from a sporeprint today and then make 4 or 5 more jars. What are the odds the one I've had sitting for 2 days is contaminated? I guess I could just throw it back in the kettle with the other 5 Im gonna freshly make just in case?

If you got it sterile on the first go round, it didn't sit there and go bad. wouldn't worry about it unless you just wanna.
