I'm want to move to philadelphia, but what part?

I'm famliiar with south philly and north philly.  Anybody have any suggestions? advice?

Cheap rent, I won't have a car and I like the city are a couple reasons.  But anyway any positive contributions would be appreciated.

I just gave you my serious answer, I live here, I know what it's like here.  I go to school to GTFO of this shit hole.  I live in a nice neighborhood and have 2 court dates coming up.  just think of that for a bit, it's considered a NICE neighborhood...

look, port richmond is white and full of white trash but mostly GOOD PEOPLE, 2 blocks away you cross aramingo ave and have kensington where the real animals live, you think they rob their shit hole homes? no, they cross aramingo and come into the somewhat nicer neighborhoods.

This is just an example of how our whole entire city is.  even if it's a nicer hood, they will be coming there to rob shit for heroin.

i want to move to philly too, but i'm kind of fucked because i can't get a job unless i'm living there, and i'm not moving there if i don't have a job.

does anyone live there that would want to let me come down for a couple days and look for a job? and if i get a job there, let me stay a couple weeks while i look for an apartment and save for rent?

except for its dirtiness philly seems nice.  its cheap, close to NYC, plenty of stuff goes on there, public transport.

People from Philly are the same as assholes from South Jersey.  Fuck Philly, for the amount of money you'd spend move to Hoboken, NJ or Long Island and then you can live near a real city.

No. Dogs aren't to be used for such things. It's companionship, if you need a dog that is used as a tool for your living you are making the wrong choices any how. I live in an expensive city and I do what it takes to survive.

You can have a dog that's a guard dog and your friend, they just help keep the house safe.  Realistically though, if the burglar knows what they are doing a dog isn't going to stop them.

wow a bunch of really informational posts from a bunch of people who I'm sure never lived in philly.  surprising.

philly's a good place if you do your time there.  there's much good to be found.  sure its a shithole, but usually the best places are.  west philly is a lovely area.  some of it.
