DIY Drying Table/Drying Rack Tek
    #12273033 -

Here is how I make my drying racks, you can dry a BUNCH, especially if you make a couple.

I use stack-able baskets like these:

And I put a square style box fan under it, laying down on it's side:

And I put the fan on it's side laying on a table frame with a no surface on it (it's open where the tabletop would normally be) so the air can come through:

And then I put the baskets with the 'shrooms in them, on top of the fan, and the air blows through and drys them out.

It's a good system.

If you wanted to build it, just get a table frame that normally has a glass top and take the glass off. Lay a box fan on it's side and then go to a thrift store and get some of those stack-able baskets to put on top of the fan. Fill the baskets with 'shrooms and you can dry a bunch of 'em.

It's super cheap to build.

I don't have a picture of mine, I have no camera ATM. But there is my DIY Drying Table Tek.

Yeah it's good for big or small amounts, it's cheap, durable and effective, so I thought I'd share  Build one or two and you can dry pounds or grams...

That is pretty rad.

I will definitely do something like this when I get my production up.

Does this get cracker dry or do you use something after?

Looks like a good way to do it, especially if you have a lot.

Yeah cracker dry, it depends on how many you have, though. You don't want to pile a lot on top of each other (like layers of 'shrooms) but if you spread them out, in a few days they'll get pretty damn dry...

and this can handle A LOT (especially if you make two) or it can dry only a little bit.

When I do a small amount I put them on the lowest rack. The most should be on top and the least should be on the bottom, that way air can come through and you don't have the most 'shrooms on the lowest basket blocking air to the top baskets.

Good luck you guys...

Nice way of drying. I personally do not like dehydrators...mainly because of their size and they tend to be noisy. I'll probably set something like this up next time!

I'm not either, I don't like the risk on potency loss. I know it doesn't effect it too much, but air drying is the way for me... I don't like too much heat near mah mushies

I've done the same thing with furnace air filters, strapped to the fan. I've also seen screen rigged with wood in the same way, making "trays" and then stacked. A box fan is a good way to dry if you like that whole thing.

I like dehydrators personally, but thats another thread

Awesome, this means I dont have to get a damned $30 dehydrator, and instead can use stuff I've already got!

Cool. I've always used a fan on its side with a window screen on top of it, but if I ever needed more drying space I might give this a try.

AFOAF once used the big stackable trays that they use to deliver bread. You can stack them really high and put extra fans in between every 3rd or 4th one to keep air moving up through the stack.
