Caffeine user experiment

Do you drink 3+ Coke's/cups of coffee/tea etc a day?

Try to abstain from all chocolate and any caffeine for 48-72 hours.

What happens? I'd like to know if anyone else gets horrible migraine-like headaches from it.

I?ve never gone further than maybe 30-35 hours. Then the headache almost kills me. A cup of coffee at this stage solves nothing, asperin works ok though

From what I've heard it can be done, in fact much easier than with nicotine or alcohol. It's just the first few days that are rough, after that it's all done. I don't want to quit it because I like it too much :smile:

I've never smoked and I can stop drinking at the drop of a hat. But I am caffeine dependant - even as far as doing a strip of Pro-Plus a day - in addition to all the Mochas :laugh:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are right about that. Andrew Weil says in Natural Health that you should chose a time when you have absolutely no commitments for three days if you want to quit it. You should prepere your self for headaches and lack of energy for 2-3 days. Aspirin and fresh air is supposed to help. But over all, a caffeine habit is supposedly easier to kick than one with most other addicting drugs.

I used to work at a cofee shop and yes a headache would be common.  Newt, it's totally possible to quit using caffeine.  You just have to work your way down.... :smile:

I ended up stopping the addiction, well sort of. I dont withdrawl from it anymore, but if I have a caffinated beverage I always crave more. I probably average 3 caffine containing products through out the work week.
However, smoking is a battle I am not yet strong enough for.

I got the same thing. I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and tobacco if I don't get enough of both a day I get grumpy and tired.

i had to have an allergy test when i was about 12, doc said no caff. along with about every food that i liked, for 2 days. that was before there was 20 oz pops. i carried a 2 liter around all the time. i got sick as hell. weak and headaches that i never experienced before. i thought i was gonn die. mom called the doc. he said to go ahead and give me a little. Ill never forget her bringing that 8oz glass of
coca-cola to me. i was all shaking like some kind of crack head till i got my fix. I will NEVER go another day without at least a couple pops.

I drink around 6 Pepsi's a day atleast..cause of caffene and I like how it coats my throat tricking me into thinking im getting hydrated when im not. But still..I get mad headaches when I dont drink it...my mother stopped buying it but i work at a restraunt now and i get it for free for my 8 hour shifts hehe.
