Delusion or special ability?

Some of both? Sometimes one, sometimes the other?

Since when did mental disorders becomes "special abilities"? Neither. It's a mental disorder. It's bad.

define 'disorder', and then take a look at modern society and re-evaluate your statement.

Schizophrenia is fascinating. Game theory, a very important mathematical concept arose because of schizophrenia.

I think its incredible. It's a scary place for sure, but it has it's perks.

I dunno. My mom is a paranoid schizo and for the most part she's with it but she has her moments.  I definitely wouldn't say gifted. Delusional yes.

Not everyone believes it is a mental disorder... that is a relatively new phenomenon.

I just ignore the voices and I am pretty normal.. except for the twitches.. and the nightmares.. and waking from the nightmares covered in blood. Besides that I am a solid member of the community.. anyone know how to get blood out of sheets?

Indeed. It is easier for me to see something like greed or self-centeredness as being a mental disorder than something like 'schizophrenia'.

I also think the grouping that takes place under the heading of schizophrenia is poorly done. The spectrum of symptoms given that label is very, very large.
