There may be no "proof" but there is evidence. Can you show reasonable evidence that consciousness does not come from a physical process?

I don't see my contradiction?  Planck's constant is 6.63E-34 J-s, which is a really small ass number and represents a limit for position and energy.  This represents a physical constant but anyways moving on, uncertainty principle isn't that necessary for the discussion.

There are lots of indications that consciousness arises from physical processes.  Such as the ability of anesthesia to induce unconsciousness, i.e. an acting physical process.  Furthermore if consciousness has no link to physical processes, why, if I bash you in the head hard enough would you loose consciousness?  Neuroscientist often indicate gamma activity as being indicative of consciousness about 60Hz, which says you can't discern moments of time less than .0167 seconds or so.  You are right of course that their is no proof that consciousness arises from a physical process, nor is their proof that you exist and are real.  The point is, do not ignore the vast improvements we have made in science out of ignorance.

Quantum consciousness is actually the big buzz word now which ignores materialism but still embraces known science.  To make consciousness an unknowable God entity completely independent from reality is a fallacy and laziness; it's an excuse for not looking at all we have learned and are learning.

Your definition of consciousness and my definition of consciousness are not the same. According your defition, a housefly can be conscious. I do not believe a housefly possesses consciousness.

How far will you take that?

What is your definition of consciousness?  I view it as a continuum with say horseflies on one end and us on the other.  As the above mentioned how far would you take your assessment.  I'd surely argue that my dog is conscious from direct experience and would guess certain other animals are also.  Not to hark to much, but as soon as you consider yourself to be special or unique you eliminate lots of valid possibilities.

I think your question is for morrowasted.

Not to hark to much, but as soon as you consider yourself to be special or unique you eliminate lots of valid possibilities.
