black dust it would be easier to get a culture goin with a dry specimine because the molds present in the fruit body arent live.. use dry tisseu on agar ant transfer out from there till you get only morel myc. good luck man.

Setting a Martha up in a spare room will give you the temps and humidity you need for a few months,  just seal off the vents and crack the window.
This will give you time to get a proper set up.
I have a cement/cement block room that is insulated and half buried witch keeps cool temps years round.

Can I grow these mushrooms the same way as cubensis using rye berries and horse manure in a monotub?

LOL,  I guess I go a little over board.

A small refrigerator can be modified for that.  Wine refrigerators with the glass door would be prefect,  look on Craig's list for a used one that you can drill some holes in to pump FAE and humidity in it.

Something is happening with my sclerotia.  If this were any other type of mushroom, i'd say THOSE ARE PRIMORDIA, but I'm not getting my hopes up.  This is basically a monotub with sclerotia partially buried in straight vermiculite, after i refrigerated them for about 3 months (and fed them a little potion I concocted). The picture may not illustrate this well, but these are like clusters of little knots.  yesterday they were MUCH smaller, and not touching eachother. On page 5 and 6 of this thread, he's got something, but his look all fluffy, and mine look like straight up primordia.

hell yeah, they look like the smaller ones.  where did you get those pics?  these are at room temp.  I dont think climate has to be as exact as everyone thinks.  I wish the pic illustrated the way these are separated. the pic looks like its one white blob, but really its a cluster of like 20 knots.

if they are morel primordia they form smill little knots of myc.which gets round then they grow upwards elongating untill they look like a elongated skinny pencil eraser then they start to get a little deffinition and ridges start to become apparent. untill they acheiv the morel form. can you take a pic from the side view? then ill be able to tell.are they long and elongated yet? be careful they are verry prone to abort at this stage.

they're not elongated yet. just little knots. tomorrow or the next day we should know if they're going to produce anything.  I'll post more pics over the next few days.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you. could be worth a lot of money.  BTW my slerotia varied in size, had several like the diameter of a half dollar and 1-1.5cm thick.  My biggest one was the diameter of the jar and 1cm thick.  It was in one of my sand jars, grew between the sand and the grain.
