Interesting E-mail....and it all checks out
    #1141447 - 12/14/02 03:31 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

Are you proud to be an American? Do you truly appreciate the freedoms that we as Americans have? Do you happen to have a slight suspicion that things are changing in this country and it might not be for the better though? Would you like to learn the truth, and would you like to help?

Helping can be as simple as reading and UNDERSTANDING the following article and then forwarding it to everyone you know. Understanding is the first and most important step to initiating change and I hope you agree that it must change.

-----------A FEW BASIC FACTS---------------

There is a cancer in this country that has been quietly growing for over 55 years, and that cancer is the United Nations. It was founded by communists, is controlled by communists, and to this day carries forth with the communist agenda. Read on.....

The United Nations Charter was ratified in San Francisco, CA on June 26, 1945. The primary author of this document, and the first U.N. Secretary General was Alger Hiss, who in January of 1950 was convicted of being a Soviet spy and served over 3 1/2 years in a federal prison.

The second U.N. Secretary General, Trygve Lie, was a self proclaimed socialist from Norway. The Soviet Union's unconditional support of Lie for the position of Secretary General for two terms, is evidence enough of his true allegiance to communist beliefs.

The third U.N. Secretary General was another socialist named Dag Hammarksjold from Sweden. In a letter he wrote to a friend while Secretary General, he stated "It is a little bit humiliating when I have to say that Chou-En-lai, to me, appears as the most superior brain I have so far met in the field of foreign politics." In case you are not familiar with who Chou-En-lei is, he, in association with Mao Tse-tung, murdered between 34 and 65 MILLION of their fellow Chinese... all in the name of peace.

The next Secretary General of the U.N., appointed in 1961, was U Thant, a Marxist from Burma. An interesting quote made by Thant and reported by the Associated Press in 1970 is as follows.... "Lenin was a man with a mind of great clarity and incisiveness, and his ideas have had a profound influence on the course of contemporary history," continuing he states "(Lenin's) ideals of peace and peaceful coexistence among states have won widespread international acceptance and they are in line with the aims of the U.N. Charter." Now, in case you have forgotten, Soviet dictator Vladimir Lenin and his successor, Joseph Stalin, murdered millions of their fellow Russians, all in the name of peace... And the Secretary General of the U.N. thought he was a great man.

The fifth U.N. Secretary General was an Austrian by the name of Kurt Waldheim. When the Nazi army invaded Austria, Waldheim did not fight them or flee the country. Instead he joined them, became an officer and fought in Hitler's Nazi army.

A quick recap before we continue....We have had a convicted communist spy, two communist controlled socialists, a Marxist who thought it is acceptable to murder your own people, and a Nazi soldier as the heads of the United Nations.

Continuing on to 1981, as successor to Waldheim, you have Javier Perez de Cuellar. He was still Secretary General in 1989 when another massacre of Chinese civilians by their government occurred. His comments on the Tiananmen Square incident were this.. "Tiananmen was exaggerated. I think it was really cruel repression, but from there to say it was a tremendous, dramatic, tragic violation of human rights is an exaggeration." (On June 4, 1989, students in Tiananmen Square, Beijing organized a peaceable, non-violent protest against government corruption and a plea for the introduction of true freedom. The Chinese military was sent in and subsequently murdered approximately 7,000 students and jailed and tortured thousands more...all in the name of peace.)

Next was Egyptian socialist Boutras Boutras Ghali. His desire for a permanent U.N. Army and a global taxing authority were his chief concerns while in office, not peace.

The most recent and current Secretary General is Kofi Annan. Having spent most of his adult life involved in the U.N. it is no surprise that Annan was the chief of U.N. peace keeping operations in 1994, the year of the Rwandan genocide. Despite messages to Kofi Annan from U.N. commanders in Rwanda alerting him to the impending slaughter of innocent civilians, Annan ordered the "peace keepers" to stand down. That order resulted in the murder of approximately 800,000 innocent men, women and children.

As you can see, the American ideals of freedom and liberty are not the goals of the United Nations, never have been and never will be. If you think they are, then ask yourself why the Soviet Union has three votes on issues concerning U.N. actions and the United States has only one. It has been that way since 1945. America, the most powerful and generous country in the world has the same say as any third-world nation while the communists get three. Does that tell you anything?

America, do you see what is happening? Do you realize that more American tax dollars have been given in support of the United Nations than all countries combined? And over 100,000 American lives have been lost in United Nations "peace keeping" or "police" actions. Yet the U.N. policy of "America last" is demonstrated on a daily basis and we put up with it. Enough is enough.

Show me one nation that is better off with U.N. intervention. Have they curbed worldwide hunger? Have they created peace? No! Hunger is as widespread as ever, and the U.N. has been involved in, as well as contributed to, the starting of over 140 wars since 1945. Are they striving for freedom and equality among people? No! They sacrifice the lives of good, honest soldiers and Americans to implement their communist agenda.

We must get America out of the United Nations. Write or E-mail your representatives and state officials, and tell everyone you know. America is at risk from this dangerous organization that is growing stronger and stronger as each day passes. Get involved and get us out of the U.N.

The truth is evident, but if you desire more information, check out www.enter.net/~conservative/un.html or buy these books from Amazon.com or get them from your local library, "The United Nations Conspiracy" by Robert W. Lee, or "Global Gun Grab", by William Norman Grigg. These are good sources for a start.

And most of all, forward this E-mail to everyone you know.
Thank you.

Ignore the derision of the statists. They would rather sacrifice liberty for an empty promise of security. In the very least, the U.N. is a waste of taxpayers' hard earned money, a country club for the biggest parasites of the human race - the political class.

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I've been in opposition to the UN for decades. It is a worthless organization -- correction -- it's worse than useless, it's actually dangerous.

Why any country that recognizes individual rights in its constitution would want to belong to this farcical cabal is beyond me. Evolving's characterization of it as a country club for parasites is dead on.

When was this article written though? The Communist Menace is soo '80s. I mean get with the times, the communist plot has changed to the terrorist plot, and in about ten years it'll probably change to the alien menance or something.

very interesting, to say the least.

Oxford Dictionary definitions:

Communism- A social system in which property is owned by the community and each member works for the common benefit.

Socialism- A political and economic theory advocating that land, natural resources, and the chief industries should be owned by the community as a whole.

Now, if you are a big fan of the song "Imagine" by John Lennon, you probably think these are great concepts. The only problem is that they don't work. They take away all incentive to bust your ass to succeed. What ends up happening is all will to perform is taken away because the theory is basically "from those that have, to those that need," so if you do bust your ass, you have the same rights, standard of living, personal posessions, etc, etc, as the jerk that doesn't do jack shit.

Look at the standard of living in all Communist countries; are they all equal? Yes they are, but it means that they are all equally poor. (except the ruling class of course)

America was (and still is) the only country in the world to install a Constitutional Republic (we are not a Democracy by the way) and it propelled us into being the greatest country in the world. People excelled in everything when they realized that you could really be rewarded in this country if you wanted to succeed.

As far as why is a group of nations getting together a bad thing, it is because it is big government. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Can't you see the gradual shift of power to the UN from the EU, Africa, South America and the US. Our Constitution was purposefully penned to limit the size of government, but it has been trampled by politicians and the masses crying for government to feed me, cloth me, shelter me, protect me, etc.....Just get a fucking job or citizenship in a communist country that will provide for you.

That article is a lame conspiracy theory that carries no weight. If there's one thing wrong with the UN it is that it's a puppet for the US and a handful of other countries. Communism really doesn't even enter into that equation.

You have no idea what my beliefs are. If you were to say things are going to shit with the US and it's policy, I would wholeheartedly agree with you. That doesn't change the fact that the article is, for lack of a better word, stupid.

The Communist Menace is soo '80s.

Dude, read the news....Cuba, N. Korea, Libya, China, etc. Communism is far from dead.

fine, so communism doesnt work well in practice
but every communist is not automatically evil

I didn't say people who suffer under communism were evil, in fact they are just like you and I. Do you remember when the Tienemen square incident happened? If you do then you should remember the picture of the lone Chinese student standing in front of three Chinese tanks. Talk about bigger balls then I could ever imagine, but why was he doing it? They just wanted to be free and in trying to demonstrate, their own government murdered thousands of them. Yeah, communism is great. Who likes communism? The ones in power and those who like big government to provide for them and wipe their asses.

That doesn't change the fact that the article is, for lack of a better word, stupid.

Quality criticism there. What part of the article did you not understand? Is it just a fluke that all of the UN Secretary Generals have leaned towards communism or socialism? There are plenty of other sources, including UN publications themselves, that prove the UN is very anti-American.

The power company in BC is collectivly owned. It works better than private power companies because the rates are lower, and the profit goes to the province which re-invests it in hospitals, highways and schools.

Private pofits and usually invested in offshore tax havens

Plus it provides well paying jobs, and it is very reliable.

The notion that public enterprise can't work is ridiculous. It does work. It's working, right here, right now.

As for having the same rights, standard of living etc. as the jerk who does jack shit, what about private companies? The owners, executives and managers enjoy a salary/dividend 100's of times greater than the workers, who are busting their ass very much. And the wage of workers in planned to NEVER go up, generally. Private companies are lobbying to effect more and more changes that undermine the bargaining power of workers.

That "greatest country in the world" stuff, not to mention the rest, shows me how brainwashed you are. America is NOT the greatest country in the world. They just tell you that ad nauseum. Nor is it the most free.

interesting that you know the actual definition of communism, yet cite those countries as an example of communism.

the communism of the USSR and stuff isn't really the marxist "communism" of its definition.

Captain Jack writes:

interesting that you know the actual definition of communism, yet cite those countries as an example of communism.

How can one reasonably determine which countries are in fact Communist, then? The problem is that apologists of Communism argue that there has NEVER been a Communist country. Complicating matters further, some apologists of Marx claim that Communism is not Marxism, and some even say that the political movement known today as "Marxism" contradicts in some aspects what Marx himself said -- not surprising, since Marx's writings are not always internally consistent. So how can we determine what "Communism" really is?

The only thing I can come up with is to look at those countries who proclaim themselves to be Communist, not those whom their detractors claim to be Communist. They at least are closer to the Marxist "ideal" than any randomly chosen countries.

This is why I prefer the term "Collectivist" to "Communist" or "Socialist" or "Marxist" -- it subsumes them all under a single umbrella concept that accurately capsulizes the essential fundamental principle under which all of them operate -- the firm conviction that the rights of individuals must be subordinated to the "rights" of the group.

The UN is a prime embodiment of this belief. Though they claim to abhor oppression of minorities, they seem unable to grasp the fact that of all the minorities in existence, the smallest minority is a single individual.
