can you make tea out of a fully colonized brf cake? if so what would be the concentration of psychoactives in the cake, like grams of cake as related to grams of mushies.

I think none from reading
The psychoactive drugs psilocyn and psilocybin were not detected in the mycelium, the earliest stage of development of the mushroom. These drugs were identified in the mycelium knots, the earliest stages of the fruiting body of the mushroom.
here a link to the test the FBI did Test

If it's a plain BRF cake, break it up and put it in the blender, cover the pieces with OJ, frappe and enjoy.

the myc must contain some level of alkaloids or there wouldn't be tons of faq's written on the subject. go to shroomery main page --> click on grow/find --> click on growing mushrooms --> click on mycelium culture techniques. there are a few here which talk about extracting with cranberry juice(an acidic ph helps to leech the chems)

It will only contain psychoactive chemicals once the cake has begun or is busy fruiting, or naturally once it has fruited. Other than that it will not be active.

when i used pf cakes, i always used the spent ones for tea and one cake would usually make enough to take care of 2 to 3 people. i have made tea from cakes that had not yet fruited and it was never potent. make sure to strain the liquid through cheese cloth or you will be ingesting a lot of vermiculite.

I've got a couple questions: 1) Have you tried this with brf cakes, or just rye (as recommended in the directions) ?
2) When you have done this has it been before, after, or during fruiting?

i dunno what all you guys are talkimng about but im assuming most of you have not tried it. so what i can tell you from my experience is that you CAN make tea form a cake that has not produced any fruits and you WILL make you trip.

in the dosage/ingestion section there is a very good idea involiving cutting the cake into cubes boil for 10 minute in 2 cups of water. Strain in a coffee fliter and pour into hot chocolate. They reported the tripped very strongly (would have been enough for two people) and is a good way to keep from wasting exhausted cakes. I've never tried but did sound interesting.
