that's a tough one. Sometimes I feel like the only reason I have negative thoughts is because I'm depressed, other times I can fall into depression after negative thoughts happen, but maybe those negative thoughts came in because I was depressed who knows

One must have controll of ones emotions. You should not were your emotions on your sleave. If you just let your emotions run wild, then some bad things can happen especially when mad.

Again, i would like to know this method of "emotion controling" How exactly does it work?
Teach me.
(Im only asking this because it is something im thinking about. My personal opinion is that we CAN control our emotions I just can't think of HOW we do it. This is also leading me to the possibility that mabey we dont(or can't) control our emotions...)

Well, I'm no master at it, but what helps is to center yourself, and to view things from an unattached state of awareness... Don't get caught up in all the melodrama that surrounds you... That's not to say you should just escape reality; you still must do your part... just don't get caught up in doing it. Remember you are just playing a part in a play, so to speak.
Just my opinion.

How do i center myself? How do i view myself from an unattached state of awareness? Again just questions. I THINK i control my emotions all the time, but it certanly involves no centering or viewing myself from unattatched states of awareness. Also, is it pratical to center yourself and view yourself from an unattatched state of awareness everytime I dont like an oncomming emotion? Do i have to do these things everytime i get angry?

We must control emotion on some level. At some point the ego subconciously makes a decision. That makes me mad/That makes me happy
It then serves to reason we can control our emotions by shaping our ego in some desired direction.

It all depends on the person's mind.
I see people (like my parents) who have their emotions controlling them. It's not pretty.
I can (mostly) control my emotions. I have always been very passive in my life, and my parents think I'm stupid because of this. If only they could meditate or something. All that stress should be let out and never allowed to come back.

ok well if you're putting it that way then yeah everything that goes on inside me is controlled by me.
I thought we were going along the lines of consciously controling.... I thought if something is in your subconscious your ego really can't control it at all.. and if it can, then its not subconscious? or am I being retarded? heheheh I do that a lot too

Your ego probably would not be very successful of consciously controlling what's in the subconscious mind. However the subconcious mind creates the ego while simutaneously the ego creates the subconscious mind. By changing one you can change the other.
Without Ego and without the form and structure of the mind both conscious and subconscious we return to the formless void. Consciousness without form structure or boundry. Pure awareness of everything, everywhere, everywhen. Experiencing the ultimate moment.
