"Many that live deserve death.  And some die that deserve life.  Can you give it to them?  Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice."  ~The Wisdom of Gandalf

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I had no hand in his death.
He did that all by him self.

I simply don't agree with wasting valuable resources
on someone who doesn't respect their body.

In the context of the quote though, he meant do not be eager to make judgments about who deserves what, since you can never have the complete picture.  Alcoholism is a consciousness- and health-draining affliction, but alcoholics are not bad people per se, and there are many paths to becoming ensnared in the grips of addiction.

I never said he was a bad person, just that it isn't fair to put him at the front of the organ donar list if he abused himself.

its an excellent example of why government health care is a horrible idea.

i dont think the guy should have gotten a liver, but the government shouldnt be the judge of that.  thats who will be signing the paychecks of your doctor if obama's health care plan goes through.

if you think government health care is a good idea, just look at how much success we've had with government housing.

I decided I'm gonna keep most of my alcoholic drinking to social events , even though that's 96% of what I do already- alcohol is kind of boring to use on a daily basis    :potleaf:

When people can't get a liver due to a huge waiting list, and they didn't do anything that retarded (your liver doesn't SUDDENLY fail, he'd have symptoms such as jaundice well before that) why should his dumb unbelievably inebriated, presumably mixing medicine that says not to ass get one?

nah man i didnt mean he was some bad person or something...i just meant that he killed himself.  in my opinion it would be outrageous to put him at the top of the liver transplant list while there are people waiting that were born with liver defects or something and didnt completely bring it upon themselves.

of course im not god, im just stating an opinion...in my eyes he got what was coming and thats it.
