I got my spores tonight. There is something i'm not so sure is good. The little black particles suspended in the water are built up at the tip and in the cap of one of my surringes. Is this normal? Or bad? and is there anything i can do to help it if it isnt normal? Thanks for reading

the "black particles" are the spores. the rest is just sterile water. make sure you shake it up before you innoculate anything, and you'll be fine.

Cool, but they arent all gone now that there is a build up of them on the needle tip? They are no longer in the steralized liquid, so i shouldnt use them right?

As long as you sterilize it with a lighter or alcohol, it'll be fine.

shake after every innoc seems great for my friend. good even growth in 3-5 days under innoc points.

and let the needle cool after lighting it before innoculating, or you'll kill the spores.

It's best to have an air bubble in the syringe when you shake it as this helps to break up the spore clusters but don't pull unsterilized air into the syringe though as this will infect it! Suck air into the syringe whilst heating the tip of the needle with a flame so as to kill any airborne nasties.

What this poster is trying to say is that their syringe arrived with some of the solution having been released, resulting in a spore build-up in the actual syringe cap and the tip of the needle. I wouldn`t necessarily say it`s a problem but you deffinatelly sound like you lost some of the spore solution. If it`s too much spore so that your syringe is empty or clear I`d suggest calling/e-mailing the vendor. Otherwise you should use it but make sure you flame sterilise the needle.

for christ's sake don't pull air into the syringe while holding it over a flame! for obvious reasons.

You dont "need" air in a syringe. It just helps to have air in the syringe when your shaking the thing to break up spore clusters and spores stuck on the side of the syringe which in theory is best for inoculation as theres a more even distribution.

As Morrowind pointed out TDogg theres shit loads of microscopic spores in the sterelized water anyway. I've made a shit load of spore syringes and have never had a dud one from flaming the needle while drawing air in

it doesn't help to have air in a syringe. its asking for contams. all that is needed is to tap the syringe and shake the hell out of it. it'll be fine. as long as every single spore isn't stuck in there, its ok.

A good way to really shake em up is attach it to a virbrator with some tape or something and turn it on. The high RPMs help loosen stuck spores.

not contams, a flame is very hot, and sucking in hot air will kill the spores.

you should NEVER do anything but depress the plunger before the STERILE spore solution is used up. Thats the point, as long as nothing is going into the syringe, then everything comming out will be clean
