SMFP can be a dangerous thing at times

I just moved recently here (into a part of the country that's notorious for having a considerably less jobs available then most other parts of the US, no less) and despite the fact that I already had a job before I even moved - I had already been warned ahead of time that the best I could be offed at that point in time was a part time position in a different local that would require considerable transportation to get to (which, of course, I didn't have)

but then when I got to where I was going, and got all settled in, and had the chance to let these people know I was both in the area and ready to get started (regardless if I could even pull this shit off or not) the first words out of this man's mouth were that one of their veteran employees had just recently here passed away, and that they were getting ready to start looking for her replacement just as soon as they had the chance to get everything in order with her paperwork an all...and that because I had a very good referral from my previous manager - I would most certainly be bumped to the front of a very long list of people who were anxious to fill the part

Spiritual Mother Fucken Protection, it seems, has no heart towards others when VIPs such as myself are in need :sad:
