Are human beings property of the state?
    #10156268 -

When two people want to live their lives together, what do they get? state permission via a marriage license. Yes, some live under common law, but even then government intervenes and dictates they are married after cohabitating after a few years. In my state, it's two years.

When this couple births a child, what happens? The government marks the child with a number that we know as the social security number. If we don't have a social security number (or tax id), life becomes pretty difficult, if not impossible. No driver's license, no passport, no bank accounts, no use of credit card or any other financial instruments, including stocks and bonds. Think about it. Just about everything is tied to your social security number, and if you don't have one, it's almost impossible to buy or sell because you have to register everything--licenses, car, bank accounts, credit cards, etc--to it. Think about it.

So does this make us property of the state? Are we branded and tagged like animals? I don't know of many people who could live without government in some form or fashion. I suppose you could go out into the wilderness and live like Ted Kazinsky, but honestly, most people I know would quickly die without air conditioning, let alone having to hunt or gather their food, or even grow it.

Note: I'm not a total anarchist, but that government should serve the people, not the other way around. Government derives its powers from the people, not corrupt bureaucrats.

People aren't given permission to marry, but rather, they are given benefits. Social security numbers are somewhat necessary for our social stability and organization, but I agree that there may be better ways to do things.

Social security numbers and the like are voluntary registrations to be a part of society.  As such, you reap the benefits of living in a society: bank accounts, no use of credit card or any other financial instruments, including stocks and bonds.

If you don't like it, you can leave.  However as you correctly stated the creature comforts that are obtained from being a part of society far outweigh the inconvenience of being assigned a social security number.

That still doesn't debunk the assertion that we are all property of the state. In fact, it actually supports it.

In the US everyone but the super rich is property of the state.

If you arent property of the state your name will be spelled like this on your ID: John Smith

If you ARE property of the state your name will be spelled like this: JOHN SMITH

I think the whole property of the state thing mostly has to do with census, voting, etc.

As a slave, you must buy your freedom, run away, or work it off for the rest of your life in hopes that your children will be free.

Yup. I'm glad someone actually knew something about the differences in full capitalization of your name and not fully capitalized.

If you are a US citizen look at your state issued ID. Is your name all in CAPS or just the first letter? If it is all in caps then you belong to the state.

Is yours in full caps, #5? How the hell do you know all this?

Is this where you got it from:

Those who will not fight for freedom and liberty deserve neither freedom or liberty.

If you identify youself to any official using government issued cards you are a slave with no rights. A freeman has his name in Maximus Minimus a slave Maximus Maximus, what this means is if your idintity card license etc has your name all in capitals you have no rights and you can be tried, being guilty until proving yourself innocent.

I would strongly suggest trying to get any card issued using English spelling rules your name in upper and lowercase starting with your given name(s) and then family name. Also you do not have a first, or last name , this too is a gov't trick , do not sign anything that has your name in capital letters without putting brackets around it ( signature ) according to contract law anything in brackets is for reference purpose only and not part of the contract. Long live freedom , long live liberty.
