Shroomery, i was under the impression the lime was used to ph balance and that gypsum was a buffer?? And that substrates shouldnt be ph balanced as myc actually prefers slightly acidic substrates, so it would colinise much faster than it would if it was balanced to a lower ph.

But in the case of casing layers, that ph balancing made it harder for contams to colinise as moulds like acidic.

Maybe if using alot of coffee, it could make it too acidic so adding C.C would fix that?? then that would make sense.


thats a great harvest. I really like the oak ridge strain, Im sending jeetered the foil that 1 of the cakes was sitting on that got covered in spores for him to isolate.

Compition is a great idea, get those spores out there!!!

Thers only 1 place i know of you can get oak ridge, but i cant mention them here as they are not a shroomery sponsor.

Yea, I have I'm going to let it ride until it contams.  The tub is still pretty damn heavy leading me to believe there's still quite of bit of moisture in there. :super:

Oh... as far as the "How many fruit bodies"  I decided to post a pic of the entire first flush BONE DRY.  You'll have to guess how much the MOUNTAIN weighs.  :naughty:  If you guess right, you get to "SPIN THE BIG WHEEL"

These are the only prints I made.  They will be "In the Vault" until things "simmer down".  As usual, 30 prints.  I now have a new favorite variety!  Thank you Jeetered!
