Just wondered what the best way to prolong the life of a cake. Are there way to rejuvenate it? Scrap, clean, dunk etc?? And what is the best way to keep the flushes coming? How do you know when to let it RIP?
BTW it is BRF/verm cake
your comments are appreciated

There are many ways you can do that. You can dunk them , right after every flush, and/or use PFs double ended casing TEK which can be found at his home page.
Some hippies recomend to dunk them in skimmed milk too!
Other people like to make holes in the cakes and use straws to make reservoirs for the cakes, which is a bit risky, cos you cant inspect the insides for contamination.
Another thing you can do, is case em, although PF does not believe it has anything to do with a better flush, many shroomers do case their cakes. You can even use it (after you cut the outer part coat of the cake which might have contams sleeping on it ... ) to inoculate dung.
And at last you can even extract the psilocybin it contains to trip! Did i forget anything? Oh yeah! Some other guys around here, also inject sterile water in cakes via syringes.
Its your decision! Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess the best thing to do is to try them all and see which one works best for me :)

hippie, could you explain briefly why skim milk works better than water? i don't see the reasoning, im not doubting it but i dont see how it could benefit, except for the vitamins and stuff that makes milk to a body good....

because it feeds the cake as well as ryhrating it.
all report new glossy growth, lots of pinning.
only drawback is slight risk of contams.
