Are you allowed to post really obscene things in the Off topic discussion? If so then maybe. But I think it's not that people who post here are cowards. It's just your odds of getting an honest answer about a perhaps embarrassing subject is higher in a forum where peoples identities are anonymous.

Sometimes. When people bash other users, treating this place like a high-school cafeteria, then it's cowardly.

It's funny, because this entire site provides an essentially anonymous medium of conversation. People are afraid their e-reputations will be tarnished. :sad:
