Donte Stallworth Killed a Guy

Alleged WR for the Cleveland Browns ran over and killed a pedestrian on the McArthur Causeway in Miami, around 7 am this morning. The police drew blood but so far Stallworth hasnt been charged w/ anything.

Stallworth, 28, was driving a two-door Bentley east on the left side of the road just after 7:15 a.m. toward Miami Beach when he struck the pedestrian crossing the roadway near Terminal Island and McArthur Parkway, said Detective Juan Sanchez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department.

The accident victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials have not released the identity of the victim pending family notification.

At the scene, co-workers said the victim was an overnight crane operator at a nearby shipping company. The man had just finished his shift and was crossing the street to catch a bus when he was struck.

Charges are pending the results of the investigation and blood tests, said Sanchez. Stallworth was cooperating with authorities and has not been charged, he said.

Eastbound McArthur Causeway was shut down for several hours while officials investigated the scene.

Stallworth joined the Browns in 2008 on a $35 million contract after playing for the New England Patriots.

Not in that story, but I read on Cleveland.com, he was just paid his $4.75 million bonus yesterday.

I meant it as kind of a joke.

He is allegedly a WR b/c he sat out the first 4 games for the Browns w/ a sore quad muscle. Then went on to catch maybe 10 passes all year.

Stallworth is seriously fucked.  Blew well over the legal Florida limit and they don't take kindly to DUI manslaughter in those parts.  The ESPN reporter said that they are talking about years for this, not months.  And all this right after recieveing his huge bonus, now for the long drawn out legal battle.

yeah, hopefully the Browns can rescind that bonus, and the rest of his obscene contract for that matter.

On a somewhat related note, Mike Vick is gonna be working in construction when he gets out :grin:

I'm sure Vick is going to be busting his ass for his 40 hour work week to show the creditors that he's changed his ways and do his work release, although I hope they make him work like a normal unskilled construction laborer but the odds of that are slim to none.
