How does LSD make it to the child if there is no shared nervous system?

Does it matter how?  The fact is your body and the babies body are one until birth everything you consume is the child's also.

I will not claim to understand the process of how LSD works in the body, I will have to look it up though. One would assume though that with mushrooms which must be digested in the stomach (much moreso than simpler chemicals) some would reach the child. I don't see how the body differentiates between 3g of cubes and 3g of shitake mushrooms. If there is indeed a different please do explain as I would be interested.

I would not advise it. But it sounds like you're looking for a reason for it to be okay, so I guess we'll just assume you're going to do it anyway.

try some pregnancy exercises,a nutritous diet and reading for the sake of your future kid

dont marinate your baby in your drug choices, you can starve it of milk when its born if it helps to ease post natal depression

I'm not saying that it is the smartest thing to do.

I just don't see how consuming a chemical that affects only the nervous system could possibly hurt a fetus.

Thats like saying that if you broke your arm while pregnant you fetus would feel the pain.

There are no psychoactive chemicals in edible shrooms.

Shrooms don't show up in any drug tests because they don't affect the body like other drugs do.

That was my point (and question) though. Does the body see a difference in cubes and edible mushrooms? My basic understanding is if you smoke, your child smokes. If you drink, your child drinks and so on.

i have no idea if those kind of drugs get thru at all but we do have crack and smack babies born with addictions that have to be weened of drugs at birth

newborns are weened off heroin at birth with methadone

i was more thinking about if she dry heaves or vomits or has a bad trip she could well hurt the baby somehow and have a misscarriage from being sick or something

ive actually read that eating too many edible shrooms makes your immune system work overtime because after all its a fungi and your body has to rid itself of it but the goodness of shrooms outweighs that apparently, still they can cause you to feel runfown if eating to many is my take on shrooms

somewhere i read it...

How do you think shrooms get to your nervous system?  They are carried through the blood, once ingested all drug (for the most part) are circulated throughout the body.

A mother and fetus share their circulatory supply.

The placenta forms a barrier between the mother's and the fetus's blood.

:whatever:

I thought that shrooms affected your nervous system, not your blood system.
If so then shrooms wouldn't harm the child.
Since they don't share a nervous system, only a blood system.

the active alkaloids are transported via the bloodstream

if that were the case then we would have no children adicted to
crack, aids wouldnt be passed to newborns by their mothers

I certainly don't know for sure whether it's safe, but a friend of mine was pregnant and did do shrooms quite a few times during her pregnancy, although she stopped all other drugs.

Her baby is completely perfect and healthy.

I would say definitely check with a Doctor first though, just to be safe.

That is the case. But nutrients etc are also transferred from the mothers blood to the fetus's via the placenta. A bit knit picky I guess.

Lets see how that kid is after around 25 when the brain is fully developed. Besides any risk that the baby might "trip", this shows what kind of mother this will be. Why the fuck would you even wanna risk it? I think pregnant women should have to have random drugtests, and if they fail, they lose the child at birth. Even marijuana and cigarettes. If you cant take 9 months out of your selfish life to incubate a human being, you deserve to lose the kid, and go to jail the rest of your natural life/ OR have your reproductive organs removed immediately after birth.
FTW

And a lot of drugs cross the placenta with relative ease as well.

While I don't have an annotated list, I would be that most drugs with the ability to cross the blood brain barrier (e.g. psychoactive drugs), would also cross the placenta.

Honestly I don't even see why we are debating this. If I knew a girl who was pregnant asking this question I would rip her a new one. Why would you risk the life of a child on something that can wait? That is stupidity and selfishness at its finest.

Agreed. New born infants go through heroin withdrawl if the mother is a junkie. I've wondered if benzo's do the same thing. I'd assume psylocibin would cross easily.
