am i being mean?

my brother is letting a friend keep his dog at our house, till said friend moves into his own house with a fence. This dog is funny, but its a retard. Just caught her tearing up the trash in the kitchen. I punched the dog in the face and choked it for being an asshole, and rubbed its face in the trash.  I picked the big pieces up, but there's a bunch of little shit laying around that needs to be vacumed. My brother can do that, since hes letting the dog stay here. What would you do?

if a dog does something bad it can only learn that what it did was bad if you imediately punish it directly after the action or during.

Just thinking about this situation...

The owner of the dog has no fence. If this is the normal practice of the dog, then the dog was kept inside majority of the time. The dog doesn't sound trained at all. Continue your punch and choke training. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand that it works. Shock collars don't work, right? Right...:rolleyes:
