it's like 'me when Im pissed off' or 'me when Im sad'
they're all just parts of my own inner being (fractions of my own self that collectively make me who I am)
so it's not like separate people living within me or anything

i dont think thats too bad then man
everyone talks to themselves to some point, they may call it inner dialogue or something, but its all the same. as long as you are not creating fake people, and giving them names, and decorating their imaginary houses, i imagine its normal.
the crazy people just let this inner thought process escape through their mouths =]

Oh shit. I've done all three. Never confused them with real people though.

while i agree with this i will also say that i think it can help you to gain deeper insights into your personal motives in a relationship. but that is only assuming that one is even paying attention to that aspect.
like suddenly you realize that you are making the dialog in your head play out a certain way, which always coincides with your secret wishes and desires motivating your interactions with a person. though, i have no evidence to show that any one but me operates at such a level of introspection.

About 10 times a day I have a conversation in my head between myself and the real person I am going to talk to/confront/interview with, etc.
I get it down pat, I am going to walk up to that motherfucker, and tell them exactly how it is.
I can't usually finish my opening line as planned, let alone predict their reaction, and what ill say afterwards
Ill keep trying though

No. Not really converse. But when I'm baked I sometimes play out really crazy scenarios. Just chillin on the bus and than BAM! some guy takes a swing at me, but I was ready. I saw his suspicious shit and reacted. Knock him down and throw him out the bus window. Fight off his 2 accomplices and sit back down and put back on my music. But wait the gas tanker making a left turn is going to slow and is in the path of a speeding car. 'Oh shit', it's over for me- SCREECH! BOOM!!!
*snap bak to reality*
*keeps on listening to tunes.

Yeah, I do this sometimes. I don't think I'm trying to prepare for real life encounters or anything, just my consciousness filling the gap between real things to think about. I don't think it's unhealthy because I have no delusions of 'collective consciousness' or real conversation, it's just my imagination playing around.

i converse with others in my head and out loud if i'm worried or mad about something. if i'm bored, i usually make up stupid songs, like singing about potatoes or cheese, while i'm cooking said items. my favorite is "nacho cheese...i like a nacho cheese...amothafuckin' nacho cheese...i like a nacho cheese..mothafucka mothafuckin'" and repeat for several minutes.
BTW, was asking if people "conversate" a joke or are you still in grade school?

What do you mean?! We're conversating right now!!
Remember to turn off the lights when you leave a room. Conversating energy is important.

I have conversations with myself ALL the time.
I also commonly have imaginary fights and battles in my living room using broomsticks or pieces of wood as weapons.
I am a pretty vicious bed-room ninja.

I used to do that, then I realized it's a terrible habit that only wastes my time and puts unwanted opinions on my head. It's an ego rub, nothing more. I stop myself whenever I realize I'm doing it.
If you examine the content of these imagined conversations you can learn a lot about yourself. They hint at all sorts of your own insecurities. Usually they were some sort of situation in which I came off as an ideal, sanitized version of myself.
