How long does it take for Casings?
    #963731 - 10/15/02 05:28 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

I cased my 3 inch substrate with a 1/2 or so inch of casing, 50/50+. I saw some signs of myc growth yesturday and patched it. How long does it usually take, until it is ready for fruiting? If I saw signs of myc colonizing part of the substrate I should be in good shape right?

Second q: My pussy cat wanted to know if he did his right. He saw aboout 15 pins come up, but the casing layer wasnt colonized yet, so he placed in fruiting...is this ok also?

About a week or so usually.

You won't have the most even pinset, but that's fine. It will still fruit. Next time, when colonizing the casing layer, keep the trays out of the light.

Peace

As sundevilgrower suggested, be patient. There are many variables that may affect growth speed. Don't worry until it's been over a week with no real signs of colonization.
