BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! hey freak...you get props for getting nice puerto rican fruits like that! i've had nothing but trouble with them...overlay, early maturation and sporulation, stunted growth, etc. tripped on them the first time this weekend also and had a creepy crawling trip, with HEAVY body load, a headache too! (but this was most likely my company, blah!) one question...once you cased the substrate, how many days did you let it colonize the casing layer before you initiated pinning?

thanks fungichick! here's some picks of some mature fruits from the first flush... i cannot believe how dark the spores are, they completely turned some of the tops of shorter fruits completely dark purple (almost black!)

well guys, i hope that you enjoy these pics! I'm really really happy with how these turned out! I've got another 7 days for these to grow before I have to chuck all my casings and put away my terrarium for a bit. I've got a new roommate moving in soon, and I'm not too sure how he feels yet about me growing magic mushrooms. We'll see how things go and maybe if things are cool, or after he moves out I can pick up this hobby again. Until then, guess all my stuff will have to sit in the closet. too bad too cause I have 5 more spore syringes that I got from sporeworks. however, I'll have to report back on how the trip goes with these peurto's. From what I've heard, they're pretty potent little funguys.

thank you Xazia, sorry to hear you had so many problems with them. So what do you mean by "creepy crawling" trip? Sounds like things didn't go so well.... ok, regarding your substrate question... here's a quick rundown of the logs i made while growing... 12/13 -- Innoculated 12 jars of 1/2 pint substrate with PR spores from sporeworks 12/31 -- Cased 4 casings with 12 jars of PR substrate 1/8 -- Casings went into terrarium 1/19 -- Pins starting to form in all four casings 1/23 -- Harvested some mature fruits from first flush 1/24 -- Harvest most of the fruits from first flush. There are still a few more left which aren't yet mature. The two casings which are doing the best were 100% colonized (white) on the top of the casing. The other two were not fully colonized and are now growing a bit slower then the others. Next time, I'd wait until the tops were totally white before putting them into the terrarium. This seems to work really nicely.

thanks Mklangelo... ok, here's the scoop. I figured I'd try a little taste of these .. so I just took 3 of the tall/thin ones at 7:00... WOW.. i'm already really feeling it .. I'm getting a pretty intense body high, feeling a little floaty... and the monitor is getting a little brighter.. these little guys are really potent, because i wasn't getting this feeling from 10 of the cambos i grew... i'll write back in a bit...

How did you mix the casing on that? Did you use hyfrated lime and if so how much? Also on the substrate, did you cut ut up into cucumber like slices or break it up into 1 or 2" square pieces?

i did not use lime, just 50/50 verm/peatmoss. i crumbled the cakes into small chunks (1/2") when casing....

just to follow-up on last night.. those three little shrooms were pretty damn potent. Gave me a really good body high for about 2 hours or so. No visuals though, other than the monitor getting brighter...

Hi Everyone, I'ts been a while since I last posted. (May '02). I had a roommate move in and he wasnt' down with the whole drug thing.
My dog spot will be trying for a 4th time to cultivate cubenzies. I've got all the supplies and am about to start clenaing and disinfecting my kitchen. I'm really looking forward to a wonderful end product. It's also that time of year and we have close to 100% humidity. Should be excellent conditions for a good flush.(or two hopefully)
I'll keep you posted on my progress and will be taking a log as well as lots of pictures. My last post included over 30 images.
Thanks!
