relationship with parents
    #9612536 -

Does it become a formal relationship? I am the oldest of 3 kids and it seems my place in the family is largely a lost concept.

I'm around them more than I have been in the past year, but our relationship is just weird now. When talking to my parents I feel like I'm saying everything that I'm not thinking about saying. It just wouldn't be right with them, slightly stubborn people.>me:lol:

I guess it's because I will and do not have any plans of securing a major job with a college degree, I will live off the land with my hands as a renaissance man..
So does the relationship with parents just end up different? I guess relationships are always changing as much as the actual people, it's just got an awkwardness to it that has exceeded anytime before this.

its awkward being a totally different person than my parents and not living with them for years. every time i see them we can't ever talk about anything b/c it would only end up in a fight. im the successful kid, too. so now i just get high before i go over there and we all laugh and i eat their steaks :vaped:

I have a very good relationship with my parents, but I'm also somewhat dependent on them.

Well, me too. Very soon if a job comes through I will be out and in my grandmothers house three hours away. Paying and doing all my own shit for good, but the relationship has just gotten very plastic. It's just kind of frustrating..

A great plan, but what are you doing right NOW?

Sounds like you have "no major job, no college degree" and aren't doing much.  Only "planning" to do things.  Guess, what, i can plan on being in the NBA and a pornstar on the side.

Talk is cheap.

Your parents are probably slightly upset, and ashamed of you.  Imagine if you had a kid who was a complete failure at life, never did anything with his/her life, and only "talked about" doing stuff.

You are their child, an extension of them.  Being a loser makes them feel a similar way.

Don't think I'm planning on sitting on my ass the rest of my life. I'm currently waiting for a job to pan out and I will be out of the house within a few weeks. I'm sure my goals and aspirations much exceed yours, however it's a much more \precise/ path.

I really hope I can work it out as an artist; I have too much creativity flowing to waste and I think I can help the world out from my point-of-view. I'm mainly (atm) a photographer with high praise, I need to start finding freelance work. I'm also a musician and waiting for a tour to come around which is bloody unlikely. Maybe I need to find some other people to start playing with..( if you knew the bandmates I have right now. No one could out play them.)

I need to meet a few people I haven't met yet to help me kick start my career. I need to get a foot on the intellectual ladder and start climbing from there. Anyone have any connects? It's all about who you know, and I know nobody at the moment.

Also, I don't mind living on the street. I'm going to be freight hopping later this year, I was just interested in what you guys had to say about your relationship with your parents.
