PM or new thread material

Should we all make new threads about ideas discussed in another thread because...
How do you determine what's "supposed" to be discussed in a thread, and what belongs to a new one?

All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

What are you talking about, pray tell?

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you

There's one other thing I meant to mention. Even though there is not a very good chance she will live through the cancer, continue to treat her like she's going to live to be 100. Don't handle her with kid gloves because she will realize you are doing so and might feel awkward from it. From what I've read of your experiences with her so far, it doesn't seem like something you would do, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

I think that she, in dying, is giving me a chance to test my ideas, giving me a chance to see what sort of value a radically different view of self and a vision for the future of one's own "self" yields. She's progressing beyond viewing self as locked into a physical body, and instead is starting to see that while the body ultimately dies, the actions that she creates never do. She seems extraordinarily happy at the concept.

Really loved this part. My advice to you would be to try to use the experiences with her to really prompt yourself to make the most out of every moment you have, to not let any opportunity to become more aware of the present slip by, and so on and so forth.

Please share, I'm curious.  Or did the vagueness prevent a direct answer?  I know I stumbled over that myself.  That was the reason for my answer such as it was.

I already directly answered the original poster on this. It isn't my fault that you either did not notice this, or choose to feel that my response wasn't good enough.

I noticed and was referring to this statement, which was the preface to your entire post:

.... her parents are being VERY front about this... they're pretty much forcing her into it. They are also hyper-religious... her mom and dad are both preachers and the like. She's an atheist though, so she's in a very strange situation as far as that is concerned. They are trying to convert her before she dies, but I have a feeling that she's leaning more towards taking a rational approach to her own death, and she seems much more attracted to tennets of Buddhism and Taoism than anything else.

That sounds like a very unfortunate situation.  Sometimes we feel like everyone is like ourselves and yet I do not know (how could I?) if this is the case, especially in matters such as these.  For the record, no one can convert someone against their free will.  Conversion is a matter of volition.  I suppose anyone with some kind of desire to bolster their own beliefs could lead them to "share the faith" or experiment with their own belief system at a time like that.  For myself, as I said, I would be more interesting in providing whatever love or compassion a person would need rather than focus on myself or my beliefs.

I do, however, know what I would want to hear if I were in her shoes.  Three words:  I love you.

I had already made a post directly in response to the original poster's questions, and then I decided to make another post that offered an indirect perspective on the topic as a whole, in my experience, because it was on my mind and thought it would be of some benefit for others to read.

Now, your repeating his questions and asking me if they were to vague for me to directly respond to defies quite a bit of reason, considering that I had already responded to those exact questions in an earlier post.

Is it dictated that every post someone makes in this thread be a direct response to his questions?

If not, then why did you ever question me in such a manner?
