I too.. found myself unable to answer some questions properly , due to the construct of the question. It should be more precise.. as the answer sometimes cannot be explained with 1-5 :smile:

you asked for a source and i gave you one. go do a google search on Dr. Hunts experiments if it really matters that much to you. which i doubt it does.

If you showed a valid link, or a scientific study demonstrating chakras, perhaps his mind would be changed.

Until then, weak sauce.  As is, that site looks just as about as credible as the Church of Scientology.

i immediately noticed the raising the bar to his standards of evidence coming into his post. its a typical skeptic tactic, he even was extremely vague in asking me to provide evidence NOTE: he never said scientific evidence at first, only after i provided a link. his standard of evidence will only continually change, never satisfactory. personal experience is enough for me though. so why should i bother? i'm perfectly comfortable with my belief no matter how irrational it may seem to you.

this thread is extremely old and irrelevant. whether or not chakras exist or are in balance is less of an issue with me these days.

and not giving a fuck what you think hardly takes as much effort as you would imply. its less a tactic and more like a disposition.

a skeptic. when someone already has made up their mind to debunk something, the possibility of it being valid is closed to that person. they subsequently lock in their reality. any concept that cannot be observed, detected, or measured falls within their realm of superstition and nonsense. the unique (and by no means unfeasable) possibility of something being transcendental of the current sensory and intsrumental observation models evades you completely. your wold becomes completely within your own rational understanding.

I like how you lump me in with the skeptic category.  I have no doubt that I've experienced sensations originating or centering around the chakras, and many useful energy body raising techniques that I use to lucid dream/have an OBE use the concept.  I'm just not certain if they have a neurological basis, or if they're just a useful visualization tool for accomplishing certain tasks.

As far as I'm aware, there hasn't been a single reputable scientific study that's verified the existence of chakras.  Multiple systems have different numbers of them, even, and the smorgasbord of New Agery that accompanies their discussion (what color crystal goes with which, etc) makes it hard to talk about such matters without getting laughed at.
