I think he'd know if he'd been drugged and / or ass raped.  I would know.
 
You say your friend left at 4pm and zack WOKE UP at 9pm  ?

Thats a 5 hour duration max without including likely digestion times.
I don't know of any drug he could of slipped him that  would have such a short duration and be capable of KO someone enough that they wouldn't feel their ass get raped.

How about pressing charges? Even if they don't stick, the would-be raper will suffer for the duration of his college career from having that label.

He could have got a benzo and been completely amnestic, woken up about 4-5 hours later and been woozy.

I call bullshit as well.  I'm thinking your friend got gay with this guy, and then was embarrassed and thought the gay guy would tell people, so he made this all up.
