Do you think that is actually how she acts or that she may be acting a little bit. I am not familiar with this phenomenon but i doubt she would be able to hunt very well walking the way she did in the video and raw meat would make her sick. Also, she doesn't know what a camera is at 22? I find it hard to believe she would bark at a camera.

I would venture to say that it is real.  She was 'running' on all fours on concrete, don't know about you, but that would probably split the skin on my knees open, but since she does it all the time, her knee skin is quite a bit tougher.

peace

No shit someone cares for her. She lives in some home in Ukraine. They obviously do whatever it is they need to (put clothes on, cut her hair, pop her knee scabs) to keep her living well.

Feral children are definitely real.

They've been documented plenty in western medical literature.
They don't normally live very long though, and do poorly in "captivity".  I think their normal life spans are into the teens or twenties...  They can't be taught to talk or act human either, if they're found past a certain age.  It seems like their brains adjust to certain patterns and then stick that way.

Though, I've always wondered what would happen if one was dosed.

There was one case in Europe I think, where a girl was found by a doctor, she had been raised by feral dogs.  He took her in and cared for her, I think she was in her teens when he found her... she lived with him for a while, but always seemed on edge.  She ran away one day into the woods and never returned.

From wiki-
Quote:
"A feral child (feral, wild, or undomesticated) is a human child who has lived isolated from human contact from a very young age, and has no (or little) experience of human care, loving or social behavior, and, crucially, of human language.[1] Some feral children have been confined by people (usually their own parents); in some cases this child abandonment was due to the parents' rejection of a child's severe intellectual or physical impairment. Feral children may have experienced severe child abuse or trauma before being abandoned or running away. Others are alleged to have been brought up by animals; some are said to have lived in the wild on their own. Just over a hundred incidents have been reported in English.[2]

When completely brought up by animals, the feral child exhibits behaviors (within physical limits) almost entirely like those of the particular care-animal, such as its fear of or indifference to humans. The term Mowgli Syndrome has been applied. These cases have been investigated by researchers and scientists in the fields of psychology and sociology."

Quote:
"In reality, feral children lack the basic social skills which are normally learned in the process of enculturation. For example, they may be unable to learn to use a toilet, have trouble learning to walk upright and display a complete lack of interest in the human activity around them. They often seem mentally impaired and have almost insurmountable trouble learning a human language.

It is almost impossible to convert a child who became isolated at a very young age into a relatively normal member of society and such individuals need close care throughout their lives. "

There are still cases that happen today.
# Viktoria, Katharina and Elisabeth in Linz, Austria (discovered October 2006). Aged 14, 18 and 21. Mother kept them in a dark cellar for 7 years. The girls played with mice and developed their own language.[23]
# Cambodian jungle girl, Cambodia, (2007), alleged to be Rochom P'ngieng, who lived 19 years in the jungle.[24] Other sources questioned these claims.[25]
# Name Unknown, Uzbekistan, (2007) found after eight years.[26]
# Amy G, Bansko, Bulgaria (2007). She was found in a mountain area where she had been raised by stray dogs. She was unable to communicate and appears to have lived on wild berries and rats.[citation needed]
# Lyokha, Kaluga, Central Russia (December 2007). He had been living with a pack of wolves, had typical wolflike behavior and reactions. He was unable to speak any human language. Taken to a Moscow hospital, he received some medical treatment, a shower and nailtrim and several meals before escaping from the building. He is believed to still be in the wild.[27]
# Danielle Crockett, Florida, United States (2007-2008). Dani had been locked in her room and deprived of human interaction for the first 7 years of her life. She was found and adopted and is currently undergoing efforts to acclimate her to human conditioning including learning English and effective communication.

The last one on there was made into a thread here on the Shroomery recently.

Dani has a site now

http://www.danisstory.org/

And the website mentions Kasper Hauser. There's an awesome movie about him, though it's way more of a social commentary than about the phenomenon.
