Is this an improper way of storing jars?
    #919781 - 09/30/02 03:41 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

I have them above my computer in a cardboard box (the one they came in ) with a bag over them.

From what I understand, they need to "breathe" so to speak, so is having a bag over them, going to effect them?

The fact that you will no doubt check up on them frequently will counteract any stagnant air problems that you might have in the container. Though there isn't a large amount of air exchange from the jars. We don't exactly want that to happen.

Try the cabinet above your oven or stove ....... if you have one that is . That is where I have kept mine with wonderous reults .
Of course monitor the temps in this area before doing it , in my case it is always 82-84*F even when the oven is in use .
But you should be okay as long as you do not wrap box up tight with the plastic , some air exchange is still occuring , specially if you can't keep your hands off the growing jars
Good Luck
