New to Tool

I haven't listened to Tool in years but i
want to see if I'll actually like them at
this point in my life.  I'm downloading
Lateralus right now, any other suggestions
for someone trying to get into them. Thanks!

Third Eye whilst blazed. The full lateralus album is a trip in and of itself, so good start on your part  :smile:

Rosetta Stoned is epic as well, though it takes a while to get used to. make sure to read up the lyrics for this one, as gaining context for the song will make you appreciate it so much more.

Vicarious has always been a personal favorite of mine. Listening to that while tripping sets me into just the right state of mind.:thumbup:

listen to "Wings for Marie, pt 1" and "10,000 days, wings pt 2" in headphones outside in a good spot while on any hallucinogen and i promise it will be 10 minutes you'll never forget. :smile:


i'm pretty sure they are about Maynard's dead mother but its the texture of them and a few of the individual phrases that really get my gears going.

lost keys -> rosetta stoned -> intension -> right in two is a great four song progression off of the 10,000 days album.

really i would suggest just getting their whole discography :smile:

thats your opinion. mine is that you are mildly tasteless and ignorant.

music these days is horrible in general. if it can't match the days of classical compositions is musical quality at least a few good bands have well surpassed that style in creativity and emotion.

if you are planning a solo trip anytime soon... throw on the ole headphones, crawl in bed, and throw on Lateralus (the whole album). its an incredible journey.

jambi is a great song,
rosetta stoned wasn't as great as first, but no matter what you always listen to it again whenever you play Tool.

I used to like tool until they made the same album that
