This endorsement means precisely bupkis.

All of the Republicans had already voted Powell out of their club after his quarrel with Bush over the war that led to him being sacked at the end of George's first term. 

This is a close election and nothing short of the final returns on Nov 4th will be a nail in Mccain's coffin.

I, for one, am getting nervous.

There is entirely too much time left in this campaign for my liking.

You are putting all kinds of words into my mouth that I never said, or implied.  Here are a few examples:

You certainly suggested that the Council on Foreign Relations had something to do with Colin Powell in this election regardless of what I said. Otherwise, why did you bring them up? What relevancy do they have on the subject of Colin Powell endorsing Obama on MTP today?

how can you claim that the democrats are the socialist party after watching the republican administration's actions over the last two weeks?  the $1 trillion bailout just made this country more communist than china. **socialist than communist china.

Obama was/is a member of Chicago's New Party.  To my understanding it is a branch of the Democratic Socialist Party. 
Lonestar2004 first posted a link to the article I'm referencing.
So, YES, Obama IS a socialist.

Excuse me????
You obviously do not understand our government, nor do understand communism vs. socialism.  The bail out pushed us towards socialism, not communism.  Furthermore, It was the democratic house of representatives that initiated the bail out you refer to.  Only the House of Representatives can innitiate ANY federally funded bill as is stipulated in our Constitution.  Our congress has been democratically controlled( at least the House) for the past two years.
