cedar is good wood to start fire
do u make a bow and spin a shaft on anouther peice to ignite dry grasses?

I've tried a bow drill for about a week. Wasn't too bad, though I never tried long enough to be successful. All you need to do is find the groove, and it's easy as hell.

That's what John Mchperson said and I totally agree. Though my damned mom threw away my stash before I had a chance to get anywhere.

of course i realize.  its something im proud to know.  as we all know, not everyone knows how to survive in the wild.  its a life saving area of study.  why wouldnt i brag?  :smile:

the only things you will hear me brag about is what i know, my cooking and my health.  youll never hear me brag about shit like my car, or my salary or stupid shit like that.  :shrug:

yep, bow and drill or just drill. grasses, fluffed dried woody stems, anything ignitable.

i just can't listen to someone named Wiccan who talks about money...don't the two contradict one another? especially a Wiccan who doesn't even live in the U.S....Holland was it? Thought you guys were the happiest country in the world...

things are bad, but the way i understand it things have always been bad...they'll be worse for some and get others thinking about things...tehe worst thing that can happen is everyone takes a bath on alot of "money" which is pretty stupid to begin with, and then we all have something to talk about when we are old and playing with our own poop...

the worst thing you can do is panic...it spreads faster than aids in a bunny farm...

it was fun for a little while talking about shooting everybody and mass chaos living ion the woods like a common mammal...these threads seem like a plague on these boards lately...who keeps starting these threads anyway??? hmmmm...

and i thought i watched too many movies...
