Re: I may have discovered something... [Re: abica]

Have been using the lemon tek for my last five trips, moderate, mild and heavy doses with wild semilanceatas, home grown cubes and mixes of both. The citrus works really well, maybe a little too well.
On my last trip three of us split a mixture of 1g dry aborts from a failed casing experiment and 2(ish)dry grams of last year's semilanceatas.
An hour after a late lunch we divvied up the shroom flakes, mixed them with the juice of a lemon and a lime in individual coffee mugs and left to soak for five minutes. Added hot water and a bag of licorice chai tea( tastes really good, especially with the grassy/earthy taste of the libs) and left to steep for five mins.
We down our brew and head up the path from the cabin to a nearby waterfall to smoke some herb.Halfway there(5 mins after consuming) I'm already coming up. When we get to the waterfall,I'm already having OEV's. The path behind us looks like a brown and gray snake crawling through the undergrowth, the waterfall and river look like rainbow tinted glass, the trees are swaying even though there is no wind. The fast come up kind of throws me off,and I spend the remainder of the first hour just hanging on. When I start to peak I finally let go and float down-stream. Five hours and a bunch of joints later we let mark lanegan sing us to sleep.

I'm planning a trip next weekend, and I think I'm gonna leave the citrus juice out.I'm already pretty sensitive to all substances and for anything other then a light dose I need the gradual come up to prepare for the trip proper. On light doses though,I love how the citrus makes the shrooms come on harder.

Since this thread has been bumped, I'll add that the lemon juice method really works for me, and unless I'm eating Liberty Caps (which I take boiled down into a gloop and mixed with OJ), I will always use lemon juice. Definately the best way to maximise the potential of a small amount of shrooms.

Ok, I've read quite a huge portion of this thread and other threads/posts related to this lemon method....just one question to those that have tried it:  Do you need a vitamin C tablet or is it not necessary?

Right now I'm just thinking of squeezing a lime and a lemon, putting it in a cup, grinding up 3g dry, dumping the poweder into the lemon juice and letting it sit for a good 20-30 minutes then just shooting it down.  So question once again is to Vitamin C or not?

Don't worry about the vitamin c. Just make sure the juice covers the top of the powder and let it set for 45 minutes. 10 minutes later i bet you'll be coming up hard. Very exciting ride

Ok, so here's my report:

2 days ago (tuesday) I acquired 4g of shrooms (altho it didn't look like 4, I think I got ripped off, but anyways) and a good batch of BC bud to smoke with.

Went over to my friends house "S" at around 8pm.  Busted open my bag and pulled out 2 lemons and a lime, at this point in time my friend was like WTF? haha

I told him about this technique but he didn't want to do it that night b/c he had to get up for school the next day but he did want to just kind of chew on .5g of shrooms to get a body high, so I gave him a good piece to chew on.

Go into the kitchen, its around 8:10pm, squeeze the lemons into a cup, I didn't have anything to squeeze the juice out with so I had to use my hands, cut the lemons/limes into 4 pieces each, so that 12 pieces altogether, squeezed them into a glass.

Next I took the shrooms, which to me, after give my friend that piece, looked roughly like 2.5-3g, I took about 2.5g of it and tore it into little pieces (as small as I could get it with my hands) and put them into the glass full of juice, stirred it and left the spoon in there, and by coincidence I finished and it was EXACTLY 8:30pm.

Took the concoction into the living room where my friend was watching TV, I let it sit on the table for 20 minutes, stirring it every 5 minutes.

Drank it at exactly 8:52pm.  At first I thought I was going to throw up, so here's a tip to everyone who wants to try th is method:  open your nose, I "closed" my nose when I drank it b/c I thought the smell/taste would be horrible.  What was horrible was the texture, it felt exactly like puke (shudder), almost threw up until I took a breath in through my nose and smelled lemon/lime which immediately took away my need to puke, thank god.

Right after I smoked 3 huge bowls, back to back, then my friend smoked 3 back to back bowls.  It was at that time 9:00pm.  Trailer Park Boys was on, so we watched it, pretty funny episode (it was the last one from season 7), at around 9:20 I had my first alert.  But thats when I realized I was laughing at everything it was so funny, everything was really funny, just like my first 2 shroom trips, I missed that feeling haha

It felt amazing, the body high came very quickly and very strong too.  At that time I smoked 3 more back to back huge bowls which sky rocketed me.  At 9:39 the visuals started, very lucid at first.

I posted here on shroomery at that time and it looked like a biohazard sign was emanating from the monitor, almost like an aura.

This trip was a level 3.5 I would say, it was the most visual trip I have had to date.  This technique does indeed work.

There was a 2nd episode of TPB on at 930 which we watched, and I tripped the entire time, the colors were melding into each other in the background, and everyone int he show were made of pixels which blended into each other continuously, its almost impossible to describe.

I smoked 2 more bowls and went into the computer room leaving my friend in the living room.

I put on some metal and just got lost in the music, it was a very cool experience but kinda got distracting so I went back into the living room where I smoked another bowl.  At this point there was a cloud of smoke floating around, and that tripped me right out.  The smoke created shapes almost like ghostly figures, kinda creepy, they had weird creepy faces, but I wasn't scared, it was neat actually, at that point I realized I had "melted" into my seat! That's a first for me.

I ate the rest of the shrooms around .5g I'd say at 11:30pm, around the time my friend started to get a nice body high, I went outside to explore, man it was freezing.  The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight, and it was a full moon, so cool!  The trees swayed back and forth and called to me, everything had a bright aura around it, the grass was melting unto itself!  I didn't stay out for too long b/c it was very cold for some reason (even tho it wasn't, I found out later) and there was a cop car that drove by so that prompted me to go back inside.  It was now 1150pm.

The trip, visually anyway, started wearing down at around 12am.  It's almost like as soon as I went inside it started to fade, body high was still good, and the thought process remained the same. So it was a very short trip compared to other trips, but visually it was the most intense for me.

I called a cab and went home at 1230, tripping the entire way but not visually, very hard to explain.

Got home and this is where the problem started.  I couldn't do anything right lol, I tried playing guitar but I was slow and sluggish, no way I could keep up to playing arch enemy at that time so I stopped and realized I hadn't eaten all day (fasted for the trip), but my parents were upstairs I didn't want to go up there, my pupils were still big for some reason.  So there I am hungry as fuck but not being able to go upstairs, and I kept getting into loops in my head going "Ok, I'm gonna go upstairs.... no wait, parents...Ok I'll play some halo instead, no wait I'm hungry lets go upstairs...wait"

You get the picture.  I couldn't sleep either, I ended up falling asleep at around 8am the next morning, left me exhausted and threw my sleep cycle way off.  I just ended up playing halo that night...the whole night cuz I couldn't sleep.

This technique seems to work, but this experience is compared to my previous experiences with shrooms (not involving lemon tek).  Only problem is its very short, but the visuals are worth it, the only thing not worth it is the hangover and not being able to sleep, next time I do this I'll do it during the day.

I would like to say that this tek works, but no way of telling till someone does a controlled experiment.

I will say this tho, I haven't tripped that good in a very long time, lemon or no lemon, it was a good trip.

Well, dude, I don't doubt that you got high. But is the  Lemon Tek really the Godsend that everyone claims it to be? Let's look at the numbers.

You report that over the course of 3-4 hours you took 3+ grams of mushrooms with 9 "huge bowls" (3 in the first 8 minutes) and achieved an estimated level 3.5 trip. It took 45 minutes after dosing to begin seeing visuals.

Sounds like a nice trip, but I cannot agree that this "Tek" is the Tao. Come up was a little faster, trip level was greatly enhanced with weed and length was about average.

I said it before, this Emperor has No Clothes.

Well, I'm not saying with 100% certainty that this lemon tek is a godsend and it does truly work, but, seeing as how the come up was way faster than normal and the visuals were the strongest i've ever had on shrooms, the most I've ever eaten is 8g, this was only roughly 3.5g....

And also, everytime I do shrooms I smoke a lot of weed to enhance it, no such thing as shitty weed either seeing as how I live in vancouver, so every time I've tripped I've had pretty much the same type/potency weed...

All I'm saying is you/people should try it to see what it's like first, then draw your own conclusions.

Come to think of it, I probably should change the "this works for sure" part, b/c there's no way of telling unless you do a controlled experiment.

We just powder our cubes in a coffee grinder, then mix with pulpy OJ. Let sit for 5 minutes after thoroughly stirring the concoction, drink. Fast come up due to pre-breakdown and/or acidity helping (@20 mins, you know it's coming, @1 hour you are flying), but not a stronger trip than just the mushies alone.

Last time I tripped I only did a little bit just to kill some time so I can't such much about it being a more intense trip, but I did take them with diet coke and they definitely hit me much faster than usual. Huge body and high and some visuals in about 15 minutes. I have yet to experiment with this further, though, so I have no clue whether or not the coke had anything to do with it.

if you think that this doesn't increase potency you straight up either did the tek wrong (don't know how thats possible) or you straight up didn't have good mushies to begin with.

the lemon thing works! its real! its HARDCORE... thats all I have to say about that.:thumbup::thumbup:

ive done it 7 times, its worked 5. THe two times it didn't work I hadn't powdered the shrooms fully (still some flakey/larger pieces) and was using cold lemon juice. I experienced just the normal 1.7g dose effects.

I just tried it again two days ago(1.5-1.7g roughly powdered, warm lemon juice from concentrate, let sit for 10-15 minutes in shotglass and then chased with grapefruit juice):
onset of the shrooms was about 15 minutes, frying at about 45 minutes.  Approximately 4 hours later i stumble dazed and confused back into reality asking what had just happened? where i was/who i was? why are there people at my house? I was told I was laughing wildly asking "what the FUCK is going on" for the majority of the time, with some strange and lucid moments mixed in that I remember. very strange trip.

don't underestimate the lemon shot

however I will say this: I've noticed that a lemon shot with 1.7g will give mental effects closer to 3.5-4g but visually the trip will only be as strong as 1.7g, the body load will also be a lot closer to 1.7g, the lemon seems to multiply the cognitive effects!

lemon juice = highly acidic.

the acid helps dissolve and denature the mushrooms physical protein structure, making the psilocybin and psilocin rather free in the acidic solution.

this results in much more active chemical being absorbed into the blood stream quicker, which produces the intensified fungus experience that comes on quicker but with a slightly shorter duration.

the lemon juice technique has been so significant in helping me to make the most of my fungus, and helping it to come on quicker and smoother, that i rarely eat fungus without grinding in a coffee grinder, and putting them in lemon juice anymore. the lemon juice technique is very powerful. i only consume shroomies regularly if there is no grinder and lemon juice available, say, if i decide to consume them while hiking in the middle of a forest.

even in that scenario though, i would try to grind them up before i left for the hike, and bring a plastic cup and a small amount of lemon juice so i could stop and have a shroom-lemonade picnic break

to each their own

First 2 times I did shrooms we used cola to chase down the horrible taste.  I can tell you it had no effect in terms of come up/trip, of course I couldn't know that the first time I tripped.  I didn't even think back then that cola could have any effects, I read your post and remembered back to my first 2 trips, no effects for me man.

Did you grind yours up and soak them? I ground them up and put them in the coke, and they were there for probably about 7 minutes because I was starving and felt a need to make and eat a grilled cheese first, so that may have had an effect.

Re: I may have discovered something... [Re: jeffloomis]

coke is not nearly as acidic as lemon juice and therefore will not have much of an effect. it may taste acidic due to the carbonation, but it is not nearly as acidic. (and orange juice is not near as acidic as lemon juice).

to achieve maximum effect, one must consume fungi on an empty stomach, regardless of the method of consumption (eating them normal or lemon juice).

our mushroom consuming ancestors used to fast for quite some time before drinking their mushroom stew / tea / honey drink...  point: empty stomach maximizes speed and intensity of mushroom experience. having food in your stomach gives your stomach more things to digest at once, causing a delayed entry of the psilocybin into your blood stream. so its best to not have eaten for at least 2-3 hours or more before u eat the fungus.

as for grinding.... the smaller particles / more fine of a powder you can get the fungus to be, the better, because the smaller you can get the pieces means the more surface area on each piece is exposed to the acid... thus speeding the lemon juice's effect, and maximizing it.

i use a coffee grinder to grind mine into a dust / powder, then add the lemon juice, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes to work, then consume it as fast as possible, while taking chaser sips of mountain dew or coke.

PookztA got it on the dot.

Every time I've had a good visual trip I fasted before taking, usually having not eaten for the entire day (wake up like normal around 8am, shroom ingestion would be around 7pm usually...usually).  People might think that's bad but even when I don't do shrooms I go w/o eating for whole days sometimes, university can be like that man it sucks but you get used to it after a while (so embarrassing when you're in a lecture and its all nice and quite and your stomach starts fucking rumbling like a diseased monster or something haha).

As for the coke thing, nope didn't grind em up, just ate em whole and chased w/ coke, I know you're supposed to grind them up but even I know coke isn't that acidic (grade 10 chemistry ftw!) so why waste time grinding it up lol.

Lemon tek is the best method IMO to ingest shrooms, just fast for a min. of 3 hours before ingestion, it also depends on how fast your metabolism is.

vinegar: pH = 2.4 (slightly less acidic / more basic)
lemon juice: pH = 2.2 (slightly more acidic)
