a little philosophy of why we think the way we do while trippin'
    #9005543 -

Auto-Summary
The post explores the unique nature of mushrooms and their mycelium, comparing it to water in terms of unity and flow. It suggests that taking mushrooms can lead to a profound sense of unity and interconnectedness with the world, as well as a shift in perception. The author proposes that this shift in consciousness may have influenced the evolution of mushrooms, as they gained insights from humans and other beings. The post also touches on the idea that mushrooms and humans may have exchanged knowledge and perspectives, leading to the development of mushrooms in different environments. The author concludes by suggesting that just as humans benefit from diverse nutrients, mushrooms may benefit from diverse "intellectual nutrients" to expand their consciousness.

I been thinking, about how and why we think the way we do about the world when we take mushrooms.

First i take a look and mushroom mycelia. Unlike most living things(maybe even anything) you see in nature, fungus mycellium is one "mass". so unlike plants and animals, it doesn't have organs that do this, or specific hearts or brains that do that, it is one single "membrane"

If you think about the nature of these mushrooms being in unity of "one", what is a major feeling people get when taking mushrooms? or even LSD which is a derivative of the ergot fungus? i know i've felt, and MANY others who have tripped, this thought has gone through them: "WHOA! I'M ONE WITH EVERYTHING! ITS LIKE I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT! EVERYTHING IS EQUAL AND ONE ENTITY, AND I'M JUST PART OF IT!"

This is a thought that was major with the "psychadelic" movements. maybe it has to do with mushrooms showing us their point of view, in a respect? If you reverse it around and could imagine that mushrooms could "eat" us, would they think "WHOA! ITS LIKE, EVERYTHING IS DIVIDED! EVERYTHING IS LIKE... ITS OWN THING! EVERYTHING HAS ITS OWN SINGULAR IDENTIY, NOTHING IS CONNECTED!"

Is it a coincidence that most artists who are "trippin'" generally have artwork that "form" and "mesh" together, with little definitive lines a geometric shapes, for the most part.

If fungus could "eat" us, would they be fascinated by the ability to catagorize, and would they paint using perfect shapes, laws, and boundries?

UPDATE. because i've been pondering this a bit.

If eating mushrooms do give us knowledge of a their perspective, and in return we give them a knowledge of a our perspective, could this show some light on how the mushroom evolved into being?

First i get back into the mushroom mycellium, in it being "one free flowing entity". A good analogy is comparing mycelium to water.

Look at water and it has no organs or mechanisms, is not geometric and it is free flowing.

So by seeing the nature of water, maybe it sheds light into mushroom mycelium. Anybody looking at this must've realized the connection of how mushroom mycelium is similar to water, and being that mycelium needs LOTS of water, it should be clear of how water formed the structure and nature of mycelium. For instance, water flows free, mycelium grows free(of course provided its in the right envrionment but u get the idea), water is one entity, but can be split, but still doesnt change, and mycellium can too do the same, so the "essence" of water was passed down to for the creation of mushroom mycelium.

My point is when something becomes part of something else, part of its essence becomes what it is part of. So since mycellium has high amount of water, its essence is highly of water. Other points can be made like this: we eat the flesh and muscle(protein) of animals, we become big and strong, eat more and we get stronger. If we eat a pumpkin seeds, we can become more fertile, eat more and we become more fertile.

Eat magic mushrooms and we see things differently, eat more and we see things differently more INTENSELY.

If you look at the "concious intelegence" transfers that occur when eating mushrooms it possible the opposite happens and that the mushroom mycelium gains some of our concious essence when u eat it, you may start to see how and why the MUSHROOM(and i mean MUSHROOM, not the fungus or mycellium, that came from water) came to be.

You may have noticed that i say the mycellium is one single entity, and may be thinking "well what about the mushroom? is that not a seperate entity?" And yes, it is. But look at the essence of a mushroom. It has individual parts and mechanisms that are seperate, it is geometric. It has a stem that gives it some height, and gills which give send off spores, it is not one singular "membrane". Think where this "essence" of being  more of a divided, mechanical, logical(don't quite know how to say it) living thing. Me, and you.

I believe that the mushroom evolved into being because it came into contact(contact doesn't necesarrily have to mean "make us trip", i mean just come in CONTACT in anyway with us, transfering each others essence) with a more mechanical, logical, geometric being, probably us.

This is why mycellium is underground, and mushrooms come above, because when it comes above ground, it needs to be able to adapt to a new world. By gaining a new perspective from us(could be another animal or something but at least for magic mushrooms i think that most likely it would've been humans) they were able to adapt to a different world they could not fathom by gaining some of our knowledge of some VERY BASIC things of how it worked, when otherwise they would not. Maybe these mushrooms don't hold a "univerisal truth" but simply a different perspective, that may enable us to adapt better, and shed a different light on us.

If we can transfer nutrients and proteins from foods, which help our bodily health, why can't the same be said about intelligence and perspective? I don't know what philosopher exactly but i know its been said(maybe it was jesus, i dunno, think so) that "the wisest is he who understands not just the view of one man, but the views of multiple men" its something like that, i know that basic message has been conveyed in Alex Grey books. So like good body nutrition- which to be healthy u need to eat not just one type of foods, but all types of vegetables, breads, meats, and fruits- it is essential for good health of the mind that we see from a different angle we couldn't possibly see before, we need to have differnt mental "nutrients".

Maybe that is why we dream at night...

(its a lot, i know... if u actually read that all, WOW! but it does feel good to express myself.)

P.S. another litlle thing to note, most people will say that Fly Agarics are much more mystical and more powerful than psilocybe(i've never actually taken them) maybe this is because of it mycorhizal synergy effect with a tree, thus when u eat it you not only get the "intellegence" of the mushroom, but also the tree... might be why its so much more intense.

I know exactly what you mean about everything seeming like it is one. I think it is at least particularly due to the fact that when I trip I lose bias toward everything.

It is nearly impossible to hate on someone about trivial differences, because in the end we started at the beginning of the same family tree.

I wish everyone in the world could have an enlightened experience or revelation like that could fix alot of problems.

Yea, it makes we wonder about mushrooms and mushroom mycellium... is mycellium the representing of the fabrics of earth? and mushrooms representing its inhabitants colonizing the surface for reproduction or something? I don't know... i feel unity is a neccesity, but it is as much a neccisty as division and individualism... thats what i think 2012 would be if it happens, as i think this is a pretty widespread belief. The switch from up to down, cold to hot, good to evil, logcial to abstract, masculine to feminine, division into unity. just like i think some thousands of year ago was a shift from the opposite also.

Yes, hmm thats interesting maybe they do experience us while we eat them... i did'nt actually think of it like that. maybe some sort of mushroom fucking lol(they do look like wieners, and my mouth is a.... hole) lol not really. i don't know if i would take it THAT far, well actually maybe some of the same principles MIGHT be there...

Still wouldn't work.  You come down from your enlightened experience eventually and the mundane cruelties and suffering of everyday life will start to creep in.  You'd need to ensure that everyone will trip permanently.

True. Still even one experience is helpful IMO and I have seen some few make big changes from one experience. Not many though. I work on this and so far I haven't done it. In fact sometimes I get very discouraged and then I get cranky.

We may not be able  to experience this as a permanent state.

People are unable to tell synthetic psilocin and psilocybin from natural. That should tell you ALL you need to know.

The mushroom is showing you absolutely nothing about itself.

OrgoneConclusion makes a good point. Also, how exactly does the mushroom experience us? You assume that the mushroom has sensory functions such as eyes and a central nervous system (I've been out of biology for a year so correct me if I'm wrong). The mushroom experiences nothing (warranting no assumptions) except being devoured, which event that it doesn't really experience.

I watched a film a while back, 'mushrooms to save the world' & it showed how mushrooms have already saved the world in the past when comets hit, by refertilizing the soil or soemthing like that.

It also explained how mycelia works as an interconnected web much like the internet or the dark matter of the universe.

For myself this reflects beautifully experiences ive had on mushrooms, that 'connected' feeling.

You must not understand the concept of when i say "conciousness" and what i mean. you have to think a little abstract on this. mushrooms AREN'T like us AT ALL! that was my whole point. how it works, i don't know, but i don't know anything. its just an observation, if anything maybe it'd make a cool sci-fi short story of sumfin.

No I believe molecules are very very small.

mushrooms AREN'T like us AT ALL!

They are born and they die, they need nourishment, They have cells and molecules and atoms. If they weren't like us at all they wouldn't be here with us.

Isn't a reaction to stimuli a rudimentary form of consciousness?

If you hit two rocks together they react by vibrating and making a sound.

Could the capacitization and transformation of charge be the true definition of Being?

That's not a reaction.  Now if the rocks flinched after a loud sound occurred, they would be autonomously reacting to stimuli.
