I don't think you understand how the mind of a psychopath works. They don't believe that they've done wrong. They've already justified their actions; however skewed and horrible their logic may seem, it makes sense to them. I firmly believe that people have the capacity to see themselves --through much self-deception-- as the hero, when really they are the monster. I think it is likely that if you were to glean some shred of remorse, it would be insincere--the desperate ramblings of a mentally-deficient sickophant. What could you possibly gain from his regret anyways, should he show true remorse? No matter which way you spin it, you're either trying to even some sort of Universal scale -which doesn't exist except in your mind- or make yourself feel better through his pain--sadism, remember?
