I think that people relate your behavior with that of a psychopath's because of the choice you make at this point: you decide to inflict pain on this rapist in order to feel "better" somehow, as if you've been thrust in the role of Universal Judge, Jury, and Executioner. You feel happy as you torment this man, which in your mind is "payback" for the horrors he's forced your daughter to endure. There's another word for this kind of behavior: it's called "sadism."
I -knowing my own irrational curve during periods of extreme emotional stress- would probably shoot him in the head or kill him in an equally simple manner, but I don't think I would be able to quell that voice of "logic" long enough to forget that no amount of pain will "even the scales" or reverse what's already happened. What's done is done; and, I would rather spend an hour consoling my daughter than tearing a man's eyeballs from his skull in an effort to "even the cosmic scales."
