Lawn subbs?
    #888621 - 09/17/02 12:50 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

I found some mushrooms that look exactly like tiny subbs growing in a yard between the driveway in the grass. The stems looked like they bruised bluish-black, and they gave off a definite black sporeprint. I do not have a digital camera, but will try to get pics up somehow.

There are a lot of small species of pans that grow on lawns (Found some today). The majority of them are either subbs, castaneifolius, or olivaceus. All of these have been shown to contain psilocybin.

I know how to identify pans easily but I cant exactly tell if they are subbs, olivaceus, etc. Are there any poisonous pans that could make you sick or hurt you or are they all edible? Are there any look alike mushrooms that look like pans but arn't. If I just pick a lot of pans and eat them, hoping most contain psilocybin (i know it sounds stupid), will I trip or will I get sick and die? I am trying to gain as much knowledge as I can because I want to one day trip on shrooms. Thanx for your help guys and gals so far.

I don't have a digital camera  :frown: . Could I just pick them and try to identify them and eat em. I mean, are there any poisonous look alikes to pan subbs. Are there any poisonous pans that would kill me?

I decided not to quit because i am quit excited that i found a bunch of pan subbs on my dads lawn. I am 90% sure they are subbs and will take them tomarrow and make a spore print. They have a dark ring around the bottom of the cap and a dark spot on top. Waiting and looking has finally paid off.
