A good lie is more true than an honest statement
    #8921439 -

First, I claim that any statement is linguistically true;
that is to say the words themselves do not lie, they give all of the information that was within them.

When a statement is given in honesty, it is simple, straightforward, and encapsulated in its intention. If a person were to tell you more about this honest statement they would first have to speculate it, to create new intentions essentially. The original statement encapsulated a single intention to:
-communicate
-direct information
-inform

When a lie is told, an equal amount of true intention is displayed obviously; since we use physiological ques to decode communication even a liar must fully transmit the intention to communicate. Underneath this, there must also be an intention to inform (a tactful liar may be able to combine the informing intention with the intent to communicate seamlessly). However- the intention to direct information must remain mostly separate from the intention to communicate and/or inform for the 'lie to work'.

Since the intention to direct information must be within the mind of the liar while the lie is told, some of this intention will inevitably leak. A better liar will be able to pull the intention to direct information farther away from the intention to inform and/or communicate than a bad liar.

A bad liar might separate the intent to communicate from the intent to inform more than a good liar (thus the bad liar will sound unnatural).

A poor liar will not be able to separate the intention to direct information from the intention to communicate (you will be able to tell by the tone that it is a lie, but perhaps not easily). In the case of an exceedingly poor liar, there may only be a single honest intention- in which case the lie will be obvious, as well as the reason for it.

So any lie except for the most poorly told, obvious lie, will have multiple layers of intention. Since all "absolute truth" is completely subjective, and since well told lies have a higher information breadth than bad lies or honest statements- they actually contain more "absolute truth".

Some of the most successful relationships are based on lies and deceit. Since that's where they usually end up anyway, it's a logical place to start.

*spooky music*

Free associative philosopsychology is fun...

So what would you find are weak logical points? Weak explanation points?

Philosopsychology, now that is a new one... :thumbup:

Weak isn't a word that belongs in this thread.

It's entertaining, at the least.  He tries to draw a distinction between bullshit and lies, but not very successfully in my opinion.
